He didn't mind a lot of noise but it was the repetitive sounds that got on his nerves. Such as the methodical sound of hundreds of people eating food in the Great Hall, the cheers during a Quidditch match etc. 

And since he had heightened senses due to lycanthropy, the repetitive sounds as these would often give him a headache.
