Remus never had any black colored clothing in his closet.
The color black made his head ache just by looking at it.
It kinda had the same effect on him as the sun did on other people's eyes. And the fact that black color is known for absorbing the sun's rays in it didn't help the situation at all.

Remus: "Honestly, Sirius, take that jacket off. It's hurting my eyes! As if seeing the color of your hair everyday wasn't enough."
Sirius: "I AM MORTALLY OFFENDED BY WHAT YOU JUST SAID!"
Remus (after a pause): "Well... I didn't mean it like that... I really didn't."
Sirius: "How dare you talk of my beautiful hair color like that! I won't speak to you. Ever."
Remus: "Sirius..."
Sirius: "And as a punishment, I'm going to wear this jacket every damned day and flash it in front of your now hurting eyes."
Remus (mumbling): "I might as well go blind by the end of this week."
