Remus hated changes in plans. If something was planned meticulously beforehand and then altered at the last moment, no matter if the alteration was just minute, it still got him annoyed.
Therefore, the Marauders had to take care of discussing the whole plan of their pranks carefully and cautiously so that no last minute changes would occur.
