He hated dog eared pages.

All his text books were kept free from dog earing since he made sure never to let anyone fold any page for later use. Thus his books appeared quite new as compared to others.

Peter: "Moony, can you lend me your Intermediate Guide to Transfiguration? I seemed to have misplaced mine."

Remus: "Yes, here it is. But Pete, just don't fold any page, okay?"

Peter: "Aye Aye Captain."

Remus: "And if you need help in any chapter, I am going to be right here."

Peter: "Thanks, Moons."

Remus: "No problem. Just no dog ears."

Sirius (coming out fro James's cloak): "Sorry, didn't hear you. What were you saying about dog ears?"

Remus: "..."

Peter: "Not your ears, Sirius. We were talking about pages folded at the corners."

Sirius: "Oh... And here I thought that my ears were sticking out from the cloak the whole time we were having a great time with Snape. McGonagall would have caught us then."
