The Marauders often went to each other's homes for staying over in Summer Breaks except for Sirius's house due to his family issues. Remus's was the one where they enjoyed a lot because he lived in a Muggle neighborhood and the boys loved to annoy the crap out of Muggles.

But also because Rem came up with the perfect activities to keep them occupied. However, in the summer of 1975, he clearly realized that it was a mistake to invite the Marauders to test their baking skills.

Remus: "Pete, if you keep going at this pace, we won't have any batter left for the cake."

Peter (with his face covered in melted chocolate): "Not my fault that it's too delicious."

James: "Hey Rem, what are we supposed to do next?"

Remus: "Put this in the oven before it gets all eaten up."

Sirius (grabbing the baking tray from him): "I'll do it!"

James: "Just keep it the right temperature, okay?"

Remus: "180 degrees to be exact."

Sirius (saluting): "Aye Aye Captain."

A short while had passed; Remus was aligning the cookies on another tray, James was up on the counter dangling his legs and continuously complaining that the baking was too time consuming, Sirius had joined Pete in raiding the fridge... All of a sudden, Rem lifted his head sensing that something was not right. Black smoke was wafting from the oven.

Remus (dropping the cookies wearily, the expression on his face showing that a disaster was about to strike them all): "Crap."

BOOM!

The oven exploded and when the smoke cleared, the whole kitchen including the Marauders was covered in blobs of thick chocolate paste.

Sirius (backing off from the scene): "I did nothing. Nothing at all."

James: "All the more reason for us to believe you're the culprit."

Peter (quite oblivious to the whole situation, wiping off the chocolate using his finger and putting it in his mouth): "Best summer break ever."
