Chapter Six

2034

It was just past midnight when they came. They targeted areas with few street lights so that they would not be spotted. They dragged families from their homes with no warning as to where they were taking them. Innocent children screamed and clung to their parents- praying that they would not lose grip on the clothing that their delicate hands had hold of.

The screaming stopped when one of the hooded men pulled a gun from his back pocket and pointed it at the centre of a mother's forehead; he threatened to "blow her head off" if she didn't keep her children quiet, and that he'd do the same to any other mothers and fathers who failed to do so.

From then on there were solely faint whimpers that echoed through the streets and alleyways.

Men, women and children were shoved into the back of several jet black vans. One family was even torn apart because there were too many of them to fit in one vehicle. One of the children was a toddler, it ran towards its siblings with little understanding of what was going on until one of the hooded figures swooped down and grabbed the poor child, practically tossing her into her father's arms.

Both parents gazed into eachother's eyes with desperation clearly displayed on their faces. The whole crowd knew they were powerless against these mysterious figures with heavy, black boots and clothing.

One of the figures stepped out of the largest van and watched as more and more helpless families piled into the vans. He seemed dominant, like he had control of the swarm of hooded figures. You could see his face from under his hood.

He had greasy, ginger hair and an undeniable smirk spread across his lips.

"I am Hector," he announced to the victims and, removing his hood, he added, "this is the face you will learn to fear."
