Young and Hungry

I am eighteen right now and I am going downtown. George is at war, Martha is at home, and I am craving for an adventure in the city.

I walk down the street and look around, thinking how lucky I am to be alive at this time and be in the place where history is being made everyday. And suddenly, I feel someone grab my shoulder. I look behind me and I see a drunk man around his thirties.

"Yo, pretty lady, where ya going?", the man said, wobbling and looking for balance.

"Um, sorry but I have to go, can you please leave me alone?", I impatiently asked.

"Sorry, but you're pretty and I like ya", he grabbed me by the waist as some people stood around watching.

"I told you to leave me alone, you didn't listen", I grabbed his arm and pinned him to the ground, everyone looked at me with shock.

"Please, let me go", he cried.

"If you promise to leave me alone, maybe", I told him.

"Okay, Okay, I'll leave you alone", his face full of tears, knowing there is a woman stronger than him. I let him go and he runs as fast as his drunk legs let him.

"Anyone else turned on?", I heard from the crowd, there was a man that had a bandana on his forehead, wobbling like the last man. I turn red from embarrassment and ran to the nearest pub, not knowing why.

I ran in and a guy came and put his arm around me, "What is such a prettyyyyyyyy ladyyyy like yoooooooouu, doin' at this placeeeeee?", he asked me.

"Hiding" I explained.

The man looked at me with a smirk, "Well, while you're, 'hiding', can I buy you a drink?"

"I can't", I told him.

"Why", he asked.

"Because I'm only eighteen and well, I don't know", I tried to make up an excuse.

"I thought so, no excuses", he confirmed, "Yo, bartender, get me a beer"

We sat down at a table.

"So, are you gonna tell me your name?" he asked.

"Y/N", I told him, he kissed my hand.

"Oh, I'm John Laurens", he gulped down the rest of his beer.

The bartender gave Laurens the beer mug, which he gave to me.

"I can't", I passed.

"You have no excuse", he smiled, handing me the mug.

I tilted the mug towards my lips and chugged the beer under 10 seconds. Laurens applauded me, I did a mini bow and told him the truth, "You know why I couldn't drink?"

He asked, "Why?", suddenly interested in everything I said.

"Because, I just turned eighteen today" I squeezed my eyes shut ready for someone or him to scowl at me instead he said, "whatever" , shrugging his shoulders.

"Oh you don't care? Because my DAD will", I explained.

"Oh, well" he said, worry free, "You know what you seem a little tense, let's get you some more beer", he ordered two beers and then after we finished another round came and it never seemed to end. While that was happening, two other men walked in and joined us, I immediately recognize the one with the bandana on his forehead and there was another guy with a poofy bun

"Hey, I remember you", he said sitting down.

"I also remember you, too," I said.

"You're one hell of a chick", he told me.

"Is that suppose to be a compliment?", I asked.

"Maybe, did it work?", the men laughed.

"I would like to know all your names please", I told the group of men.

"I'm Hercules Mulligan", Hercules proudly smiled.

"Great,  now that I know your name, I'm gonna beat your ass", I teased him.

"Woah" both Laurens and the other man said trying to grab both of my arms. I sat down, "Just kidding, your safe, for now" I smiled innocently.

"I almost forgot, mon ami, my name is Lafayette", he kissed my hand.

"Sorry, I don't do to well making friends, so are we friends?," I asked.

"Hells yeah!", Laurens said raising his beer mug.

"Who wouldn't want to be friends with a bad ass woman like you?", Mulligan asked.

"A lot, since I pinned that guy down", I said sadly.

Laurens and Lafayette looked at each other and had a shocked face.

"Let me tell you all about it", chuckled Mulligan. He finished the story and my new friends shook my hand.

"What was that for?" I asked them.

"I just shook the bravest women alive's hand", Laurens said.

I blushed, "I've dealt with worse".

"That's my point" Laurens proclaimed.

"So tell us about yourself, Y/N," Lafayette coaxed.

"I know we just met", I swayed from all the alcohol yet I took another sip, "But I feel like I have known you guys forever, and I feel I can open up to you."

"That's sweet", Hercules said as he took a sip of his beer.

"Let me start wi-", I started but got cut off because I felt sick as f*uck. I laid my head down on the table and felt the world spinning around.

"What's wrong?", asked Lafayette.

"I don't feel well", I put my head back up and saw three versions of every object in sight. I ran out of the pub and went to barf out all the alcohol I have drank in a bucket I found. I was running to the pub when I tumbled over a man and we both fell, me on top of him. I quickly got up and helped him up.
