Y/n's POV:
"This issue on the table", dad started, "Secretary Hamilton's plan to assume state debt and establish a national bank. Secretary Jefferson, you have the floor, sir." I held Philip on my lap and Angelica in one of my arms. "Philip, look. Daddy's working", he had his index finger in his mouth, and looked at Alexander looking like he's gonna tear Thomas into pieces. While, Thomas looked at me and silently waved.
"Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We fought for these ideals, we shouldn't settle for less. These are wise words, enterprising men quote 'em. Don't act surprise, you guys, cause I wrote 'em. Ow. But Hamilton forgets. His plan would have the government assume state's debt. Now, place your bets to who that benefits. The very seat of government where Hamilton sits", Jefferson pointed to Alexander. "Not true!", Alexander yelled. "Ooh, if the shoe fits where it. If New York's in debt, why should Virginia bear it? Uh, our debts are paid, I'm afraid. Don't tax the South cuz we got it made in the shade. In Virginia, we plant seeds in the ground. We create. You just wanna move our money around. This financial plan is an outrageous demand. And it's too many damn pages for any man to understand", I knew that word was coming, thanks to my motherly instincts, I covered Philip's ears. "Stand with me in the land of the free. And pray to God we never see Hamilton's candidacy. Look, when Britain taxes our tea, we got frisky. Imagine gon' happen when you try to tax our whiskey", he ended his side of the argument. The whole crowd went wild. I didn't say anything. But there was this one man next to us, he yelled, "That's my alcohol!"
"Thank you, Secretary Jefferson. Secretary Hamilton, your response", dad calmed down the audience. It didn't take long for Alexander to think of his response. "Jefferson, that was a real nice declaration. Welcome to the present, we're running a real nation. Would you like to join us? Or stay mellow? Doin' whatever the hell it is you do in Monticello?", I covered Philip's ears again. I know Alexander has nothing nice to say to Jefferson. And it's impossible to put them in the same room together. But, I think I want to help. I'm gonna offer Jefferson to come over for dinner. Maybe that'll make them less of enemies. While I was thinking, Alexander was stating his point and he pointed out that in the South it's the salves planting. "Also, Mr. Age of Enlightenment, don't lecture me in a war you didn't fight in", that triggered me. I remember all the times me and Alexander nearly died. From starvation, coldness, and getting shot. "You think I'm frightened of you, man? We almost died in a trench. While you were off getting high with the French", Alexander continued. I was to much in thought to pick up this, when Philip tugged in my sleeve. "Mama, what does he mean by getting high with the French?", he asked. "Nothing darling. You'll learn someday", I ruffled his hair and kissed it. Alexander. Will. Pay. "Madison, you mad as a hatter, son, take your medicine. Damn, you're in worst shape then the national debt is in. Sittin' there useless as two shits", I covered Philip's ears. Must. Protect. The. Children. Philip and Angelica are my pride and joy. But sometimes Philip is too curious. Like his father. Always wants to know everything. After the cabinet meeting, I went to Alexander, "Alexander, you did great. But you also swore in front of your son", I crossed my arms. "I'm sorry Y/n. Sometimes it slips out and it's all Jefferson's fault", he complained. "Well, If it isn't the Secretary of Treasury", Jefferson came up to us. "Oh, hello. I was just looking for you", I smiled. "See that, Hamilton? Your wife is bored of you", he snickered. Alexander growled at him. "Now, now. I wanted to invite you over for dinner", I offered. "What?!", Alexander yelled. "I accept", he looked over to Alexander with a creepy smile. "Tomorrow at six", I informed him. "Now, I'll be right back. I have to go talk to my father", I left with Philip in one of my arms and Angelica in the other. "Why does Daddy hate him?", Philip asked. "I don't know. Not everyone can like everyone. There's always gonna be that one person who dislikes you", I answered truthfully. "You're so smart Mama", he smiled. "Thank you. Hopefully, some day, women can work like man and be educated", I wanted Philip to know that the world isn't fair and you need to be willing to fight for it in order to make a change. I walked over to my dad. "So, Mr. President", he turned around to see me. "Yes, madam?", he smiled. "I was wondering if you would like to come over for dinner tomorrow? At six?", I asked. "Okay, I'll come", he accepted. "And bring mom too", I added. "Yes, madam Hamilton", he bowed. I giggled. "It was a pleasure to talk to you President Washington", I slightly bowed, trying my best not to drop the children.

We got home (and y'all thought I would skip to tomorrow's dinner). Alexander and I go upstairs to our room. He closes the door behind himself and I hear him lock it. He suddenly grabs me by my waist and pulls me close to him. "Alexander!", I say in shock. He starts to kiss my lips. Then he throws me on the bed. And crawls on top of me. "Alexander", I ask, what in the world is he doing? He kissed my lips again and trails down my neck, kissing aggressively. He leaves a bruise on my neck, "Alexander, what are you doing?", he doesn't answer and kisses down to my breasts and I yelp as he leaves another bruise on one of my breasts. He picks me up bridal style and sits me on the bed. Then he aggressively tries to undo my corset. "Alexander! Stop!", I try to push him away. "Just relax, Y/n. If we do this, Jefferson can't touch you", he tried to kiss me, I pushed him away. "This is about Jefferson?! Do you even love me? You're always in your office! Instead of spending time with me and the kids. You choose work over sleeping. You chose work over being part of your children's lives!", I started to cry, "unbelievable", I crossed my arms. I got up and fixed my hair in the mirror. "I'm gonna go make dinner. Because I have kids to feed", I stormed out of the room, without covering up the bruises. He just sits there looking like he just lost everything. "If you truly love me, you would take a break. You would have time. You would sleep in the same bed as me instead of your office. And if you love your work so much, why don't you marry it?", I argue. He doesn't fight back, he just sits there, staring at the wall. I go to the kids. Philip sees me come down the stairs. "Mommy, what happened? You have bruises", he pointed out. "I fell", I sighed. "Oh", he went to go wash his hands. Alexander came down the stairs. "Y/n, I'm sorry. I want to make it up to you. And I do love you. Very much", he grabs my waist and kisses my cheek. "I'll sleep tonight", he offered. "Okay. Apologies accepted. I'm sorry for lashing out at you. Let's not fight again. I love you too. I just really want you to spend more family time", I smiled as I kissed his lips. "Apologies accepted", he whispered. Philip came back. "Daddy! Mommy fell! She's got bruises", he informed him. Alexander chuckled, "Yeah, she fell for me", he grabbed one of my hands and intertwined his fingers with mine and kissed me. "Ew, disgusting", Philip commented. "One day, Philip. You'll understand what it's like to be in love", I smiled at Philip.

I went back with Alexander to his work. I very much enjoyed it and realized it was okay to interrupt them. Not in manners, but I felt like I have different beliefs than what Alexander and Thomas were spitting about. When Alexander pointed out that Jefferson wasn't in the war to fight. I realized I was the one fighting the war, so in all meaning, I might as well state my opinions. "Good morning, Thomas", I greeted with a fake smile. Alexander was by my side. He insisted on it, "I just want to protect you from the Virginians", he stated this morning. "Um...Alexander?", I spoke, "I'm from Virginia. And so is my father!"
"Oh, yeah", he realized.
"Back for another round of politics?", Jefferson asked. "I enjoy it! Is there something wrong with that? Can't a woman be interested in politics?", I commented. He hesitated, "I mean...I guess?" "And can't women also have the right to work, equally as men? Maybe join a war? Or be educated the same way as men? You know, I'm planning to educate my daughter when she is older. Don't you think women should be educated?Mr. Secretary of State? Oh, and don't get me started on slavery! Shouldn't all men be created equal? Black or White?", I pressed. He didn't answer. "I thought so! Every man thinks the same!", I huffed as I walked away. "What was that about?", Alexander caught up. "Shouldn't the government represent the people? And if the people request something, shouldn't they be here fighting for it?", I questioned, "it shouldn't just be about the states' problems as a community! But individually!", my father walked over as I told Alexander all this. "Looks like we got ourselves a politician over here", my dad patted my shoulder. "I would be glad to keep attending these cabinet meetings", I stated, "to make sure that at least I have a say in something and can help."

Ok. Just gotta prep the salad and I'm done. I rushed around the house while Philip watched. "Philip, darling, do you mind getting the silverware and placing it on the table?", I asked. "Sure thing, mama!", he went to go get the silverware. I felt overwhelmed, like this dinner had to be perfect. I was trying to get Alexander and Thomas to be more like friends and less like enemies. It's like trying to get a dog and a cat to like each other. But who was the dog? And who was the cat? I set down the salad at the table. "Darling, your parents are here!", Alexander yelled. Mom came and saw me running around, "Dear, let me help you. You look like a chicken running around without its head!" "Thank you, but no thank you! You are the guests!", I explained. Then, I heard a knock at the door. "I'll get it!", I announced to Alexander. There, lo and behold, stood the one and only, Thomas Jefferson.
