After a week of fighting, we were covered in blood, sweat, and dirt. Alexander and I were lucky enough to see a young man in a red coat stands on a parapet. We lower our guns as he frantically waves a white handkerchief. And just like that, it's over. We tend to our wounded, we count our dead. I started to count all the bodies within the area I was given, "200 bodies over here". We also see Hercules, Lafayette, and Laurens. As we look over to the surviving soldiers, black and white soldiers wonder alike if this really means freedom. "Not yet", dad responded when I asked. We negotiate the terms of surrender. I see my dad smile. We escort the red coats out of Yorktown. They stagger home single file. Ten of thousands of people come to see that the war is finally over. There are screams and church bells ringing. I hear the drinking song they're singing: The world turned upside down. I believe it truly did. Britain will finally leave us alone and we can be our own people without all the heavy taxes. We can have our own Parliament. And we can build from scratch, make our own foundation. "FREEDOM FOR AMERICA, FREEDOM FOR FRANCE!", Lafayette yells. "Gotta start a new nation, gonna marry the love of my life", Alexander cheers as he hugs my waist. "WE WON", everyone cheered, including me. I was truly happy for helping to start a new nation AND find the one true person I want to love forever. We all walked down to the square and got lost in the sea of people. We tried our best to get to the bar. A couple people grabbed barrels and opened the hole giving out free beer. "Alexander", I said. "Yes, my darling?", he looked at me. I quickly gave him a kiss on the lips and blushed. "What's that for?", he asked, blushing and confused. "A way to say thank you for helping me turn the world upside down"
