I remember the easy times. As I wake up to myself drooling on the pillow that I always hold in order to give me comfort. I groan as I open my eyes to see no one on the other side of the bed. I miss Alexander's smile. He doesn't smile anymore. He just always looks worried. Do I even smile anymore? I think so. I mean when I see my kids, it replaces the emptiness I feel from the lack of seeing Alexander. I hear the door open. "Hello?", I mumble into the pillow, half asleep. "Mama? It's time to wake up!" Philip crawls into the bed. His eyes meet mine. "What do you want to do today?" I asked him. "Let's go see the Burrs!" He smiles. I smile too because of his enthusiasm. It turned out Burr liked this woman who was married to a British general and surely, he had an affair with her. He was brave enough to get his Theodosia away from her husband and married her. Then, they had a child the same year as I had Philip(Yo, I know historically, they weren't, but like, use your imagination *makes rainbow with hands* IMAGINATION). I have became friends with Theodosia over the years. And speaking of friends, I haven't seen Maria in a while, maybe I'll go visit the bar. I just realized how busy I've become, balancing children with events.

I walked toward the bar I used to sing in. I mean I did for like a month, but I stopped after I realized I was pregnant with Philip. "Well, if it isn't Mrs. Hamilton." A bartender wiped a beer mug. "Yes, it is I." I curtsied for effect. "And are these your kids?" He looked down at Philip and Angelica(I'm just gonna pretend by now that Angelica is like 6 and let's say Philip's 8). Angelica hid behind my skirt. "Ah, this is Philip, my son and Angelica, my daughter." I explained. "Your mama is a great singer, you know that Philip and Angelica?" The bartender asked. "She is?" Philip questioned. "Mommy can sing?" Angelica asked. "Yep, that's why, she's gonna sing again. Right here, right now." I realized what he was saying and looked at him as he said it. "I can't. It's Maria's job." I declined. "Aw, please? One last time?(watch the comments blow up right...here)" he begged. "Only if Maria's okay with it." I answered. "Yo! Maria!" The bartender yelled. She walked over,
"Ah, Y/n! Please come sing with me!" She hugged me. "Okay. As you wish!" I went up to the stage to sing with her as Philip and Angelica stayed at a table to watch.
Woah, oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
Woah, oh, oh
For the longestIf you said goodbye to me tonight
There would still be music left to write
What else could I do
I'm so inspired by you
That hasn't happened for the longest timeOnce I thought my innocence was gone
Now I know that happiness goes on
That's where you found me
When you put your arms around me
I haven't been there for the longest timeWoah, oh, oh, oh
For the longest time
Woah, oh, oh
For the longestI'm that voice you're hearing in the hall
And the greatest miracle of all
Is how I need you
And how you needed me too
That hasn't happened for the longest timeMaybe this won't last very long
But you feel so right
And I could be wrong
Maybe I've been hoping too hard
But I've gone this far
And it's more than I hoped forWho knows how much further we'll go on
Maybe I'll be sorry when you're gone
I'll take my chances
I forgot how nice romance is
I haven't been there for the longest timeI had second thoughts at the start
I said to myself
Hold on to your heart
Now I know the woman that you are
You're wonderful so far
And it's more than I hoped forI don't care what consequence it brings
I have been a fool for lesser things
I want you so bad
I think you ought to know
That I intend to hold you for the longest time
