Alexander's POV:
I can't believe what Jefferson said. How dare he come to my house and think he can talk about my wife like she's his wife? I don't trust him. We have never agreed on anything. Why did I ever trust him with the only thing that could destroy everything? You know what? I'm not gonna let him blackmail me! I will write my way out! I will show those Southern Mother F*cking Democratic-Republicans that they shouldn't think they can toy me around or use me as a puppet. I will write my way out. I've been through worse things than this. I think back to the hurricane, my mother, the war. Philip deserves a good role model. One who's honest, who doesn't let anyone push him around. I pick up my pen and start writing. After an hour of writing I look back. Yes. This will change my life. It'll move strangers like it did when I wrote about the hurricane. I finished after a couple of hours. Perfect. I think I'm going to go to bed. I'm ready for the world to turn upside down.
"Mi amor." I hugged Y/n from behind her on her waist. She turned around smiling.
"You finally decided to take a break?" She put her arms around my neck.
"Yes." I kissed her. "Let's go." I picked her up and brought her to our bedroom.
