Another Duel

Burr's POV:

Lee picked me to be his second in the duel. I remember Laurens told me he only did the duel because if Alexander did it, he would be sent home. And he promised Alexander, he would do anything for his friend. Alexander talked to me, the night before the duel, "If Y/N comes to the duel to stop us, hold her. Hold her with all your strength. She means a lot to me, and I wouldn't know what to do with my life, without her". As I hear Alexander say this, I think of when I might have a special girl in my life. Someday, someday. I went to sleep that night knowing someone will die tomorrow...

I get up the next morning, very early. I got out of bed and got ready, remembering the ten duel commandments...

1.) The challenge: demand satisfaction. If they apologize, no need for further action

2.) If they don't, grab a friend, that's your second

3.) Have your seconds meet, face to face, negotiate a peace or negotiate a time and place.

4.) If they don't reach a peace, that's alright. Time to get some pistols and a doctor on site.

5.) Duel before the sun is in the sky

6.) Leave a note for your next kin. Tell'em where you been. Pray that hell or heaven lets you in

7.) Confess your sins.

8.) Last chance to negotiate, send in your seconds.

9.) Look'em in the eye, aim no higher

10.) Count your paces

I walk to the field, where the duel is taking place. We were on commandment 8:

"Alexander", I smile, to be polite. He might let this stop.

"Aaron Burr, Sir", he replies.

"Can we agree that duels are dumb and immature?", I try to persuade him.

He smiles, "Sure, but your man has to answer for his actions(author:I changed it because well, you know what Lee did to you), Burr", my smile disappears.

"With his life? We both know that's absurd, sir", I argued.

"Hang on, how many men died because Lee was inexperienced and ruinous. Plus, he touched Y/N and forced her into a kiss. You have to agree that's pretty inhumane!", Alexander fought back.

"Okay, so we're doing this", I mumbled as Alexander and I walked opposite directions.

As I walked back to Lee, I saw Y/N, running towards us. She made it to the spot, as Laurens and Lee took a pace.

"NOOOO!", she yelled, as I grabbed her and held her tight. "BURR, LET GO!", she kicked and screamed, like a little child. I still held on tight. "THAT'S MY FRIEND AND I DON'T WANT HIM TO GET HURT!"

Lauren's POV:

I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring me. I look at my mug of beer and think about what Alexander told me, "Laurens, you don't have to do this"

I looked at him, "I want to. Y/N is my friend too. It pained me to see Lee kiss her forcefully."

"Laurens", Alexander hugged me, "Do not throw away your shot"

"I'm still doing this", I replied.

LATER:

I woke up and looked at Alexander's bed, he's gone. I look at Y/N's bed, also gone. I got out of bed and got ready, thinking of what might happen, today. After I got ready, I went outside of my tent and saw Y/N.

"You're quite the early bird", I said.

"I didn't see you there", she looked at me, then hugged me. Her voice broke down, "I know you don't see me cry a lot but, I am right now. Please", she hugged tighter, "tell me you aren't actually thinking about doing a duel"

I felt my shirt getting wet, "Don't worry. I'll be back", I patted her head.

She looked up at my eyes, innocently, "You can't guarantee that", she was right.

"I can guarantee that I will always be your friend, no matter what", I smile.

We were on commandment 8 and our seconds negotiated. Alexander came back, "We're doing this", he confirmed.

"Great", I respond. Lee and I faced back to back, loading our pistols. 1,2,3...

I heard a familiar voice, "BURR, LET ME GO!", I didn't look back, but Alexander's face told me Y/N was here...

Lee's POV

I couldn't wait to shoot Laurens, I know that he is Hamilton's friend. Which, makes Alexander weak. I only kissed the Washington girl to make him jealous. I obviously won.

I walked to the spot, where, everyone was already waiting for me to show up.

We were on commandment 8 when Y/N showed up to ruin my victory. Luckily, Burr held her as she kicked and screamed, like there was no tomorrow, but maybe there wasn't...

Alexander's POV

I got out of bed, I looked to see Y/N, but her bed was empty. I got ready and walked out of the tent. I saw Y/N, sitting on the grass, looking at the stars, writing in some kind of journal.

"Hey", I plopped next to her.

"Can I ask you a question?", she looked at me.

"Anything", I gave her a worried look.

"Are we a thing now? I mean we have kissed several times", she blushes in the moonlight.

"I guess, but I would love to be your beloved", I held her hand.

She leaned in and kissed me, "I loved you from the time my drunk ass, saw your face". I looked at her face, she gave me innocent eyes, "Please, make sure Laurens comes back", she pleaded.

"I'll do my best", I smiled at her and kissed her head.

I negotiate with Burr, explaining Lee's wrongs, thinking he would forfeit. I was wrong, we walked back to our friends, letting them know the duel was happening.

We were on commandment 8 when I heard Y/N, "NOOOOOO! LET GO BURR!". I saw Laurens looking at me, I sent him a message saying, "Yes, Y/N is here"
