Song ~ Dean Lewis - Waves

Many creatures lived in the waters, and Alec had seen them first hand. He'd always been aware of the elementals though. They were the water dwelling equivalent of warlocks, since after a great flood all earth dwelling warlocks had died. All that were left were the elementals. Air elementals who sliced through the air with their blade sharp fins, leaping from the waves like no other fish could. Earth elementals who resided in the mud of the marshes and bogs that were dotted around Idris highlands. Fire elementals with their glazed over eyes and sieve teeth who stayed in the volcanic radius, hiding in the searing hot water where they were virtually invisible. Water elementals that drifted serenely through the water, the kinder species who always helped the fleets when their food supplies ran out by handing them fish from their reefs.

Alec had seen the earth and air elementals, along with the water ones, but never had he seen a fire elemental, nor the final two species that were said to be either banished or extinct. The spirit elementals, and the origin elementals. Spirit elementals were white all over with a splash of orange, iridescent and pale. They had a look that imitated the appearance of koi fish. They were rare and beautiful and hadn't been seen in years. They were known for hospitality and kindness of abnormal levels. Origin elementals were even rarer, they were descendants of the warlocks of old that when flooded, instead of dying, changed to adapt. They braved all terrains, some daring to walk on land to get to the earth elementals. They'd been banished off land from the start of nephilim inhabiting the country, so most had gone into hiding or died trying to fight back. Any of the new generations of nephilim had to discover whether they still existed or not.

Alec jumped from the dock to his boat, ditching the flimsy plank of wood his crew were struggling to walk over without getting scared of the drop. His brother helped him aboard, running his free hand through his blonde hair. "Jace. You're here." Alec sighed. "Thought you were spending the day with that ginger girl you met in the Accords Hall." Alec pulled the back of his shirt up, making his black fringe splay over his forehead. "Shit.. I have to go. Have fun on patrol!" Jace had a panicked expression and leapt off, darting through crowds of fishermen and patrollers. "Yeah, thanks." Alec grumbled. His group got on their boats, Alec on his own, and set off to sea.

The sun was setting, and as the crew got far out the shimmering, glowing tails of the elementals were easy to spot. Alec got out a whistle for when he remembered he forgot to bring provisions, and blew on it. A gentle sound, much like a panpipe, rang out. Alec leaned over with the whale shaped whistle in his hand, and submerged his hand into the ice cold waters. A pale blue glow got brighter, as a water elemental rose to the surface to pass him something wrapped in lime green kelp. "Thank you." Alec smiled, and the elemental looked taken aback. "It is not usually we are thanked for our hospitality." They sang in their gentle voice, smiling. "Don't stay with the water for too long, young warrior, the creatures of fire and flame are wild now, and dislike boatmen. Just a warning. Farewell, sweet boy." The elemental let go of the package, before swimming back into the depths.

It was not long after the talk between Alec and the androgynous creature that Alec had eaten and was watching how the glow of elemental tails swam around. As two different types of them danced, their colours melded and burned even brighter. Then Alec was grabbed. He let out a shout, alerting his team, before he was dragged down. It was a fire elemental like the water one had mentioned, its teeth sharp and fitted together like a sieve, and it's eyes white. It's tail was a harsh red, and as it tugged Alec down deeper, he grew blind. Through bouts of consciousness, he felt the water get hotter, and saw the water change from cool blue to harsh red and cloudy. He was gone. When he woke up he was on land, his clothes drenched and his body scathed from the rocks he was laid on. He was in a cave, but all around him was rock and in front of him was a pool of steaming water. An underwater cave. Alec tore his already ripped shirt off, the heat from the pool opposite him almost unbearable.
