Most missions were easy for Alec. This one had his jaw clenched and the blood fizzing as it ran through his veins. He'd have to run Magnus into and through a demon nest to get to another warlock. He had to make sure Magnus didn't use any magic at all before he got to the warlock as he was in a critical condition and needed Magnus' magic at its full power to bring him back.

Sure Alec would have Izzy and Jace with him, but that didn't make him any less jittery about keeping his boyfriend safe. What if he couldn't keep up and Magnus got hurt? What if he got hurt himself and couldn't save Magnus? Magnus knew he couldn't use his magic on anything else other than the injured warlock, and the thought of not being able to heal Alec if he got hurt was like a nightmare.

Alec was gearing up. He'd put on his strongest set of shadowhunter gear on, and was filling each and every part of it with weapons. Iron for faeries, silver for werewolves. He packed a multitude of knives for the vampires. He strapped everything into the holsters and belts and pockets he had, and turned to see Magnus. He wore shadowhunter gear that wasn't, something that gave the impression of shadowhunter gear but ultimately was nothing of the sort. His hair wasn't gelled up, his face wasn't void of makeup though. He had thick streaks of eyeliner on his eyelids, glitter dusting his tan cheeks, and some sort of gloss on his lips. He looked good. He looked better than good. He looked devourable. But now wasn't the time for Alec to get all hot under the leather collar he had, so he brushed his inappropriate thoughts aside and handed Magnus a knife.

It looked like an angel blade but when Magnus held the hilt, instead of the blade shooting up white and filling the room with angelic aura, it burst red. It bursted out a blood red, jagged blade. It had words of an unintelligible language scrawled across the length of it, and they looked like pink scars against the harsh scarlet of the weapon. Alec was shocked. He never thought something like that would happen. Magnus didn't even seem shocked and shoved it into its sheath. "I- I didn't know angel blades did that.." Alec sighed and watched Magnus pull it back from the sheath and twirl it around in his hands, like a drummer would do with a drumstick. It looked attractive as all hell, and Alec would be lying if he said he didn't want to drag that down Magnus' cheek and watch the red glow transfer onto his skin. All while kissing him senseless, of course. "Neither did I, but it's beautiful, is it not?" Magnus smirked, and pointed the blade at Alec with a raised eyebrow before putting it away.

When everyone had sorted their weapons out they were portalled by Clary to the den. It was musty, and smelt of ichor and death. Alec was used to that smell. They poured in, and were met with an eerie silence. The quartet shuffled through the building, seeing no demons at all. It was surprising. Once they'd gotten to the door they needed to be at Jace and Isabelle split off, going their separate ways to search the area. Alec stood by Magnus.

He'd placed a ringed hand on the doorknob when a low growl cut through the silence. A demon dropped from one of the rafters and went for Magnus as he flung open the door at an attempt to get to the warlock on the other side. Alec had none of it, and reached out to grab the thing from behind and throw it to the ground. It was winged and black, skin stretching over glowing bones like a thin sheet of elastic. It looked disgusting. Magnus watched in awe or shock, he didn't know which, as Alec kicked the thing in its head. He wasn't one for hand-to-hand combat with a demon, but he felt like taking his anger out. How dare it go for his boyfriend?

Alec tugged a seraph blade from his belt and it shone like a strong witchlight, before the glow was muffled by black ichor soaking it to the hilt. Alec had stabbed it repeatedly, and stared as it laid there twitching. He knelt beside it, and spat eleven words at its burning body.

"Don't you dare try to hurt my boyfriend you filthy monster.."

Long story short, Magnus had gotten to the warlock and healed him fully, taking him to the institute for a full check over courtesy of Alec.
