Slashing through the last demon on 25th street, Alec found a second to slow his breathing. Halloween was that day, and Magnus had gone out of his way to plan a whole party not in the loft, but in a proper venue hall. There was to be a Halloween parade that evening through Brooklyn, but no one wished to go except Clary. No one cared about Clary. (If you like Clary I'm sorry I don't rip) Alec and Izzy weaved through alleys, the grubby doors to once a year shops opened to display weird Halloween decor and clothing on sale.Alec found himself walking into one, Isabelle following him, not so sure what he'd find. Alec made a beeline to one table, looking at old jewellery that was weirdly similar to Isabelle's demon pendant that was long gone. Alec picked up a ring. It was a crystalline band, with another red demon gem on the top. The shopkeeper approached Alec and Izzy with an earnest facial expression. "Oh you don't want that." He said in a British accent, trying to pry the object from Alec's hands. "Why?" Alec asked, holding it out of the man's reach. "Its demonic, haunted and all that. Not your average ring." The keeper shuddered, it wasn't cold in the shop. Alec nodded. "I know someone who'll love it, then. How much?" Alec asked, fishing his wallet out of his pocket. "You can take it, just buy something else from this shop and you can have them both. Two for one, brave boy." Creepy shopkeeper gestured around the room. Another thing Alec was drawn to wasn't jewellery this time. It was an article of clothing. A jacket. Though a little dusty on the shoulders, it was deep red and was adorned with golden embroidery all over. Perfect for Magnus' outfit. He was going to be a male Juliet, and Alec was Romeo. Ever a classic tale, bit depressing in the end. Magnus had insisted though, and Alec had agreed in the end due to promises that they'd be all bloody and disgusting dead versions.
"Come on, Alexander! It'll be fun, me being the beautiful and naive Juliet, you as handsome, strapping, slightly more naive Romeo." Magnus pleaded, nudging at Alec while they sat on the balcony. "No, Magnus. That story is way too depressing. And you're not getting me to wear those period clothes with the puffy sleeves." Alec argued, shaking his head. Magnus whined. "Well, what if we get to be all bloody and zombie like. No period clothes, just normal and slightly posh clothes." Magnus changed it up, and Alec nodded after giving it some thought. "So your normal clothing then." Alec bit his lip. "Yes. I'll find you something." Magnus smiled, standing, and kissed Alec's cheek before making his way inside the loft.
Alec took the jacket off the rack and to the British man, who seemed to be ready to receive payment. Alec pulled his wallet out and payed for the jacket, keeping the ring tucked away in his back pocket. Isabelle looked at him fondly. "You're whipped." She said as they walked out, Alec holding the jacket which was then folded and put in a bag. "I'm what?" Alec didn't understand. Out of everything he'd been called while with Magnus, whipped wasn't a popular contender. "Whipped. It means you'd do anything for him, he has you wrapped around his little ringed finger." Isabelle grinned and Alec huffed, smiling a little himself. "That isn't entirely a lie. He's my husband." He murmured, before making his way back to the loft, splitting with Izzy as she rerouted to the institute. As he bounded up the stairs to the loft, he looked at the bag with the jacket in, and hid it behind his back. Unlocking the door, he stepped in and kicked his boots off. "Magnus?" He shouted, awaiting a reply. "Alexander!" Alec heard his husband yell from across the loft. "Come here!" Magnus added, and Alec, thinking something was wrong, bounded towards the bedroom where he was sure Magnus was. He pushed the door open, holding a seraph blade in his tightly closed fist. Magnus was laying on the bed, wearing nothing but his black trousers and some tangled necklaces, and Alec just put his blade away. "Thought something was wrong." He sighed, and Magnus grinned. "There was something wrong, you took too long on that demon hunt, it doesn't usually take you an hour to kill a few moloch demons." Magnus mused, raising his arms to place his hands behind his head and sigh.
