Song ~ Alicks - This Thing Was Not Living, But Seeking To Live
~
When Magnus turned over in bed and reached out for Alec, he sat up abruptly when he didn't feel the warm skin of his shoulder. He just felt the scratchy sheets of the bed. He scrubbed a hand down his face, pulling his fringe down by accident. Magnus had took Alec to one of his many villas in Greece, and was used to waking up either beside Alec or in the shadowhunter's strong arms. Today was different. So Magnus rolled out of the crisp white sheets and made his way from the bedroom to the bathroom. On the side of the sink was a piece of paper, with writing scribbled on in black ink. Magnus recognised the flowing cursive handwriting instantly. In the pool, come down to me when you're awake and have drank some coffee and eaten breakfast. I mean it. Have something to eat. Love you xx
Magnus smiled to himself before doing his business in the bathroom, then changing into clothes with a snap of his fingers. Today was for simple clothing. No layers, no overcoats. It was too warm for that. So he decided on a short sleeved white button up and some black jeans. It was too warm for even that, but Magnus thought it'd do. The world would end before anyone saw Magnus in shorts. Booty shorts? Yes. Any other type of shorts? Never. He padded down the marble stairway without managing to fall over, and made a beeline for the kitchen. He made two slices of toast and two mugs of coffee. One how he liked it, the other how Alec liked it. He couldn't make himself a drink without making one for Alec. It was just plain rude, and Magnus wasn't rude. Well, not all the time. He spread some sort of berry jam over his slice of toast and chocolate spread on the other. Alec had an addiction after one night of discovering it. He ate the full jar in less than two hours. He was barefoot when he got outside to where Alec was, having discarded his shoes and socks. He placed the coffee and toast down on the table beside the pool, waiting for Alec to notice his arrival. Magnus glanced over at the pool, just in time to see Alec push his hair from his face. The sun shone down on him and the water, making Alec seem heavenly. He was, being nephilim and all.
As always the stark black of his runes curled around his milky skin like smoke. He smiled as he waded through the water, creating small waves and ripples, and made his way up the pool steps. He was wearing swimming shorts and that was all; torso and chest on full show to Magnus who definitely wasn't arguing. When Alec got close enough, Magnus' eyes focused on his skin. His skin that was pale and scarred and beautiful. Water droplets abstained from dripping off him, and Magnus just stared. Alec stood there in all his angelic glory, and for a few minutes felt the burn of his warlock's stare. He leaned over, making Magnus think he was going in for a kiss, and picked his cup of coffee up. He took a sip, and Magnus pouted. "Just woke up and already in a bad mood, I see?" He bit his tongue. Magnus sat back and looked at his legs. "I wanted a kiss." He murmured. So Alec placed his mug down, walked around the table to where Magnus was sat all grumpy, took his face in his hands, and tilted his head up to kiss him. Magnus' hands snaked up into Alec's hair,
instantly getting wet. He didn't care at this point. All he was focused on was Alec. Alec's searing hot skin from the rays of the sun, Alec's warm breath puffing into his cheeks, Alec's fingers dropping to play with the waistband of Magnus' jeans. Today was a good day. Trust Alec to make Magnus forget what he was thinking about. "Bed?" Magnus sighed warmly, standing up and separating his and Alec's lips for a bit to wait for his answer. Alec simply nodded and pressed his lips onto Magnus' again. He slid his hands from the hem of Magnus' jeans to his ass, then to the back of his thighs. He hoisted the warlock up, and Magnus had gotten used to this gesture enough to instinctively wrap his legs around Alec's waist. They were still kissing as all of this happened, Magnus' eyes closed and all his intent set on making Alec feel good. Alec started walking, walking towards the wrong place. It wasn't an accident, he had a plan. Magnus didn't realise, he was too busy pulling at the roots of Alec's hair and Alec almost didn't want to do what he was about to do. But he did it anyways. He fell sidewards. As soon as Magnus realised what was happening he was trying to scramble away, trying to push from Alec and up into the air. It didn't work, and Magnus fell into the deep water of the pool with Alec. Thank the angel he wasn't wearing his makeup. By the time Magnus had reached the surface of the water and pushed his fringe back, Alec was stood staring at him. His hair was back to flopping over his forehead, and the dewy water on his skin glittered. Magnus glared for a second, before watching Alec's lips break into a smile and then a grin. Laughter bubbled from between his lips, and for a second all Magnus could think about was how much he loved this man.Alec stepped forward and was met with splashes. Magnus was throwing water at him! It was unfair. Magnus was lifting spheres of water with his magic, and propelling them at Alec's face. It was half to piss him off, and half to see the water burst against his skin and reflect the sunlight. There was a method to his madness. Alec splashed right back, cupping his hands in the water and flicking upward, sending a wave of water up and into Magnus' face. "Alexander!" He exclaimed, and rushed forward, his cat eyes gleaming in the bright light of the sun. Alec laughed, falling backwards into the water and away from Magnus. The warlock was set on winning, and would have the last word in this little game. "Want to play? Let's play, shadowhunter." He winked, drops of water gathering in his eyelashes. Alec felt threatened and a little hot under the nonexistent collar. He knew Magnus was competitive but to see him all riled up was very attractive to say the least. Alec splashed his husband again, and was choked by another ball of water thrown at him. Magnus wasn't messing around. "You did this, my dear. No escaping." He advanced on Alec, who was running out of space to swim to. After a while of darting out of Magnus' grip, he ended up trapped. He was against the wall of the pool, the stone cool against his back. Magnus had a hand in either side of him, trapping him in. His magic was there too, keeping his hands to the wall and making sure he didn't and couldn't escape. "You cheater!" Alec huffed, keeping eye contact with the warlock who stared him down. "There weren't any rules to begin with, darling." He raised an eyebrow, his yellow eyes glinting playfully. "I hate you." "You won't after I do this." Magnus chortled in a song song voice, and Alec was about to grunt a reply when he choked on lost words. Magnus was sliding a hand down the front of Alec's swimming shorts. Alec let out a breath. "If you do this I'm not going to cuddle you in bed tonight." Alec managed to say, and Magnus' hand retracted. "Liar." He rolled his eyes. Alec stayed still. "You'll have to wait and find out, won't you? Darling." Alec dragged out the pet name, and Magnus glared at him. Magnus let Alec's hands go, and instantly the shadowhunter grabbed Magnus' arms and flipped him so he was against the wall. "Cheeky little-" "Ah, ah. No profanities." Alec cut him off, and watched Magnus raise an eyebrow. "So I can't say I want to fuck you senseless?" Said Magnus as he watched Alec swallow. "That, is allowed." Alec smirked, and pushed closer to kiss Magnus. It was sweet and syrupy, as if Magnus had eaten waffles, and Alec got lost in it. Magnus sighed into the hollow of Alec's cheek, and smiled. All their stupid jokes and heated arguments and good nights or calm mornings always ended like this. Always ended with lips-against-lips, forehead-to-forehead. "What am I going to do with you?" Magnus spoke against Alec's lips, and felt Alec let out a chuckle. He felt the air bubble up as their tongues slid together all hot and slick. "Fuck me senseless, I imagine." He joked, and Magnus writhed against Alec's touch. "Not yet." He choked, feeling Alec's knee press up between his thighs.
"Well now is my turn, then." Alec sighed, feeling Magnus push up against him and push away from the wall of the pool. Water still splashed around them, the stench of chlorine almost overpowering for both. Magnus let his hands roam to Alec's hips, pressing down on the bones with his thumbs through the material of his swimming shorts. Alec just realised Magnus was still clothed, and pulled from his mouth to focus on unbuttoning Magnus' wet shirt.
"You want to do it here? In the po-" Magnus was cut off with one of Alec's fingers against his lips. "I'm undressing you and you're asking if I want to have sex with you." He breathed heavily. He looked really good in the harsh light of the sun; Magnus couldn't and wouldn't dare tear his eyes off of him. "Just making sure." Magnus leaned and pressed a gentle kiss to Alec's lips. He felt his shirt being tugged over his shoulders and down his arms. "I love you. You're my beautiful husband, of course I want to do this." Alec lifted a hand to hold one side of Magnus' face and skim his thumb across the warlock's cheekbone. "Good." Magnus kept his eyes on Alec's face, Alec's shimmering, glimmering face.
"Now kiss me or I swear I'll go crazy."
The coffee and toast was cold by the time the married couple were done, and Magnus cleaned the mess up with a flick of his hand.
