"We never have any time to ourselves. It's always interrupted by Clave duties or clients." Alec argued, sat behind his desk in his office as Maryse sat in the seat opposite. "Sweetheart, you're the Head of the busiest Institute, and he's the High Warlock of Brooklyn. You're always going to be held up in some sort of way." She smiled, reaching over to clasp her son's hands atop the mahogany desk. Alec was tired of the interruptions and plain duties that split he and Magnus up 24/7. He had Jace and Simon knocking on the loft door all the time for potions and callbacks, messages for even the most mundane, bland things ever. He was starting to think that the world was against him and Magnus being together. I mean was it normal to go two months without inappropriate physical interactions? They were what Magnus always liked to prey on when he and Alec were alone, but with all the distractions he hadn't been able to leave any marks on Alec's neck in absolutely ages. It was inhumane at most. Of course Alec couldn't bring that up around his mum, he didn't want to give her the mental image of her son and his gorgeous warlock boyfriend getting off on that very desk she had her hands on. Now that was inhumane to say the least. With that thought he let go of Maryse's hands abruptly, sitting back uncomfortably as his chair creaked loudly.

"Alec, when you two have time to yourselves for once, it'll feel so much better than usual because it'd have been so long and to be together after that time you'll feel better. How about I arrange to take over the Institute for a few days, give you and Magnus some time off?" She proposed. "I couldn't." Alec argued, but she held up a hand. "Too bad. You need time off." She smiled. Alec nodded curtly after giving it some thought.

By the time Maryse had taken over for a while, Magnus and Alec were waltzing around the lounge. They'd pushed the coffee table and sofas to the sides of the walls, and were wrapped up in each other, dancing. Magnus' hands were in Alec's hair, and Alec's were tucked beneath Magnus' shirt, rubbing circles against his skin. The aura of the whole room, the loft in general, was warm. It was cosy and calm and relaxing. The couple had their foreheads tilted, touching as they swayed from side to side. It wasn't a jive, they could take their time. The music was quieter than it should've been, they'd wanted to talk more, and it was so nice. Alec pinched at Magnus' sides a little, making the warlock squirm ever so slightly. "Alec." Magnus warned, and the shadowhunter put on an expression of innocence. "What." His voice was airy. "You know what." Magnus' lips quirked upwards. "Come on, Magnus. I wouldn't dare." He smiled. Magnus' blunt nails tapped on Alec's hairline at the back of his neck. "Okay." Magnus blinked slowly. His glamour dissolved, the result of being super relaxed around Alec. Gold swam in the brown of his eyes, until that's all there was. His pupil grew thinner until it was a narrow slit, and Alec smiled. "God." He breathed. Magnus' eyebrow quirked. "What is it? Is there something you have to do?" He asked, golden eyes flitting around. "No, Magnus. You're just so-" Alec cut himself off, sighing contentedly.

He slid his hands farther up Magnus' shirt, fingers skimming his abs gently. It was such an innocent gesture for the two despite the intimacy, and Magnus' smile was almost coy as Alec pushed closer. His hands moved from beneath Magnus' shirt and started to unbutton it. The warlock had no qualms, and kept his fingers twined in the short hairs at the base of Alec's skull. Once the shirt was fully undone and open, he shrugged it over Magnus' shoulders, pulling it till it was discarded on the rug they were stood on. Then it was Magnus' turn. With his hands off Alec's neck, he curled his fingers around the hem of Alec's Henley, pulling it up and over his abs, his chest, his shoulders and head, until it too was on the carpet. Magnus was left in his trousers and Alec in his jeans. He'd left his thigh holster at the Institute, so didn't have to worry about taking it off.

Alec's chest was dusted with dark black hair, it was on his pecs and below his navel, and the runes on his body seemed to stand out even with the same colour palette. Magnus, on the other hand, was hairless. Apart from the hair on his head and face, he was bare. His chest was smooth and the colour of caramel, and his legs were smooth too thanks to shaving and the occasional magic when he forgot. It was as if Magnus had used highlight to make his body glimmer. He probably had, it was Magnus after all.
