Song ~ Jóhann Jóhannson - Flight From The City

"Morning Magnus." Alec chuckled as a disheveled and fluffy haired Magnus trudged into the living room where Alec was sat with two mugs of tea, a plate of Danish pastries, and a book. Magnus let out a puff of air which sounded dissipated into the air as he flopped forward and into Alec's lap. "Shouldn't have stayed up so late researching for the Spiral Labyrinth. They have enough capable warlocks." Alec scolded, placing the book down so he could thread both hands into Magnus' bed hair and massage his head. "They, Tessa, asked me personally though and that's a big deal." Magnus argued tiredly, blindly reaching out for a pastry. "Sit up then." Alec smiled and then Magnus was up, looking slightly more awake and slightly more aware of the teas on the coffee table.Magnus leaned into Alec's chest, his back hitting the hard muscle, and Alec passed him the plate. "Eat." He pressed a kiss to the shell of Magnus' ear and the warlock let out a hum. "Don't have to tell me twice, Alexander." He tore a piece of a custard filled pastry off, and stuck it in his mouth, licking his fingers afterward. "Good?" Alec asked, clasping his hands around Magnus' stomach that was partially showing through a moderately low cut v-neck robe he'd bought for him when they went to Bali. "Where did you go to get these?" Magnus asked, finishing his second pastry. "Got Clary to portal Izzy to get me some and bring them here. I'm what Jace calls 'whipped'." Alec rolled his eyes, and once Magnus had done with the plate he put it to the side. "You're my husband, if whipped means I get cuddles and hot tea and baked goods in the morning then sweetheart be as whipped as you want." Magnus cooed, turning in Alec's arms to kiss him gently.
It was the softest of morning kisses, a kiss that barely felt real, a kiss that Alec could take part in all day. Alec's lips were warm and sweet from the tea he'd sipped, and Magnus' were a little dry from the food but tasted like melted butter and custard. Alec dipped his head with each movement, making Magnus move closer to get all he was giving. Magnus had his hands pressed up against Alec's chest, and Alec's fingers were tangled up in Magnus' black hair, tugging a little. After a while of being curled together Magnus pulled back, his lips a shiny pink and Alec's eyes warm and glittering. "I have to go to the Institute soon." Alec admitted, cheeks rosy from both the drastic temperature drop of the loft and the loss of breath from kissing. "Stay home." Magnus pleaded, placing a hand on Alec's cheek and pulling on his lower lip with a thumb. Alec's eyes were hooded over, his heart fluttering at the impeccably beautiful man curled up on his lap like Chairman Meow. "I wish I could, but I have to." Alec murmured, kissing Magnus' forehead.
A knock ran through the apartment, and then the signature noise of the latch clicking open. In ran the posse of shadowhunters Magnus had grown accustomed to: Izzy, Jace, Clary, and Simon. They took one glance at the married couple being all close and grinned. Isabelle audibly made a squeaking noise, and Clary did the same, Jace snorted a laugh, and Simon blushed furiously as he remembered the time when he walked in on them doing questionable things in the Academy. At least he knew Alec could top. Magnus turned his head to send a blank stare at the four, and Alec nudged him. "What can we do for you this early in the morning, nephilim." Magnus sighed, only half joking as he called them by their species. "Envoys from the Clave are coming today." Izzy said, grinning at how Alec wrapped an arm around Magnus' waist and pulled him closer. Magnus was curled up in Alec's lap and Magnus wasn't listening to shadowhunter talk, just listening to Alec's heartbeat quicken at the sound of the Clave. "You're kidding right? I hate the Clave." Simon shuddered, a newly traced fearless rune showing beneath the sleeve of his shirt. It didn't seem to work very well. "I'll meet you in the hall, I'll go change." Alec sighed, watching as the shadowhunters filed out of the loft giggling.
Alec heard snippets of their comments, noticing 'cute' 'rude' and 'Jace you dick'. As the door clicked shut behind them, Magnus' grip on Alec's torso tightened. "Why today of all days?" He whined, burying his face in Alec's neck. "I forgot it was test day today." Alec sighed, pressing another kiss to the side of Magnus' head before attempting to stand up. After a few tries Magnus let go. "Visit me, grumpy. Don't stay home and act all miserable." Alec teased, jogging to the bedroom to get some clothes. He changed into his denim shirt and some gear trousers, fastening his weapons belt and thigh holster onto him before making his way to the foyer. Pulling on his boots, he heard Magnus' soft footsteps and then felt a hand in his hair. "You look beautiful." He breathed. Alec smiled. "That's you, Magnus." Alec hushed, opening the loft door to the four idiots. They looked on as Alec swept Magnus into his arms and pulled him in for a kiss. "Too much PDA guys." Jace joked, getting a shove from Isabelle as she cooed at the couple. "I'll be home as soon as I can. Visit me." Alec enunciated the last two words and kissed Magnus on the forehead before walking out. "Get some more rest." Alec smiled, closing the door on a droopy eyed Magnus.
