Jessica's POV:

Today was a Saturday so Cody invited me to come and hang out at the mall. He even invited the guys and the girls to join. Since I had basically nothing planned for the day, I accepted his invitation. Currently we were all in the mall, jumping around like little kids and getting excited whenever we saw our favourite stuff or shops. We got lots of strange looks from passers-by but we couldn't be bothered. Times like these were the ones to make use of the most. And these times will never come back so you might as well make use of them in a good way. We passed by a smoothie shop and I said: "We should definitely go get a smoothie." Cody replied: "I don't see why not." So we went in and we each got ourselves a smoothie. After that, we continued walking around the mall until lunch time. "I'm hungry and my feet are killing me. Let's have lunch." Kayla whined. "Ok then. Let's eat now." Julian said. Immediately, Kayla threw her arms around him and pulled him into a hug. After they pulled away, they both were very red because of that hug. Do they like each other? Aww... They would definitely make a perfect couple. I should get to the bottom of this soon. But for now I decided to just let it go with the flow and ask Kayla when the time is right. And besides, I'm starving as hell. So we finally settled on eating I-hop. Us girls went and grabbed us a table while the guys went and stood in line. "And what would you like to eat Jess?" Cody asked me. I gave him my order along with some cash. He waved my money in his hand and caught up with the other guys who were already in line. While waiting for the guys to arrive with our food, we chatted a little. I excused myself for a minute to use the restroom. After I got out of the restroom, I headed back to the I-hop. I was busy scrolling through the messages on my phone when I bumped into someone accidentally. "Sorry bout that." I said without even looking to see the person was. "Jessica?" A familiar voice said. At this, my head shot up. "Daniel?" I asked surprised. He nodded. "How are you?" I asked him as I gave him a friendly hug. Daniel and I used to be best friends when I was little. We used to go to the same school until I moved hear. I lost all contact with him and coincidentally I meet him here now. "I'm doing fine. How about you? It's been a while since I saw you." He asked me. "I'm fine too. I'm missed you. I'm so sorry for not keeping in touch with you. I lost all contact with you when I moved here." I told him. "That's alright. It's my fault too. I should have kept in touch with you but I was very busy." He replied. "So, are you here alone?" He asked. "Actually I'm here with my friends. Are you busy right now? I would love for you to meet them. They're a really nice bunch of people and you'll definitely like them." I invited him hoping that he would come. "Sure why not? I've nothing important to do anyways." He said and together we walked back to I-hop. As soon as we reached our table, Marie spoke up: "There you are! Took you long enough to use the restroom Jess." "Relax Marie. I just bumped into an old friend of mine on the way back here. That's what took me so long." I explained to them. I then gestured towards Daniel who was standing right beside me and said: "Guys I want you to meet my childhood best friend Daniel." I said and one by one, I introduced Daniel to each and every one of them. As soon as I reached Cody, he stared at Daniel with a weird look for more than a minute then reluctantly stood up and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you Daniel. My name is Cody Christian." "It's an honour to meet you Cody." Daniel said. "So Daniel..." Cody continued. "Care to join us for lunch?" "That I would love to." And sat down on the empty seat next to me which was actually Cody's place. Cody was mad and was about to same something when Jordan whispered something to him. He let out a sigh and sat down on the other empty seat next to Jordan.

Cody's POV:

It's been a while since Jessica left to use the restroom. I wondered why was she taking so long. Finally, she returned and Marie asked her what took her so long. She explained that she bumped into an old friend of hers on the way. Then, she introduced us to her childhood friend Daniel. Something about this guy was suspicious to me. He looked familiar. It seems like I've seen him somewhere before but I don't remember when or where I met him. Trying to be polite, I shook his hand even though I didn't want to but I did for the sake of Jessica. I asked if he would like to join us for lunch and he agreed. I was about to say something when he sat at my seat next to Jessica. I was furious at this and opened my mouth to say something when Jordan pulled me back and whispered to me to keep calm. I let out a sigh and sat in the seat next to him. Throughout lunch, I couldn't help but stare in annoyance and frustration at Daniel who was having a conversation with Jessica. He said whispered something in her ear that made her laugh. That was the exact same thing that I used to do with Jessica. Jordan who noticed me staring at both Jessica and Daniel then asked me quietly: "Hey bro. Are you alright?" I nodded but I'm one hundred percent sure that Jordan knows that I'm not. "Don't worry bout him. He couldn't possibly do any harm. But for now, just let it slide and enjoy you're food. Don't let this ruin your mood Cody. Just try to act cool for the sake of Jessica ok?" He told me. I nodded. But even after Jordan's advice, I watched both Daniel and Jessica with close eyes. Something is fishy about Daniel and I'm gonna get to the bottom of it and find out the truth about him.
