Cody's POV:
On the way back, we dropped by my house to get a few things that I will need during my stay at the Williams' house. I packed all my stuff neatly into a bag and placed it in the car. Then we drove to Jessica's house. As soon as Jessica opened the door, we were greeted by Allie. "There you are Jess! Where's mum?" She asked. She looked exactly like a mini version of Jessica and very cute. Jessica is very cute too. Wait, what am I saying? I shouldn't be calling Jessica cute. What's wrong with me? Anyways I was cut of my trance by Jessica replying: "Mom had to urgently travel abroad Allie. She won't be around for a week. In the meantime, Cody will be staying with us." Allie nodded. "I'm hungry Jess. What's for dinner?" Allie asked. "Well, what would you like for dinner?" Jessica asked. "How about lasagna?" Allie suggested. Jessica looked at me for conformation and I nodded. "Lasagna it is." Jessica said and Allie clapped happily. I placed my bag on the couch and walked into the kitchen where Jessica was. She was getting the ingredients to make lasagna. "Need any help?" I asked her politely. "No thanks. I'm good. You could wait with Allie in the hall. I'll call you once I'm finished with dinner." I nodded and walked over to the hall where Allie was seated watching her favourite tv show. "Hey Allie." I said as I took a seat next to her. "Hey Cody." She replied looking at me. "How old are you?" I asked. "I'm eleven." She replied. "Nice how's school?" "School's great. I love going to school." She said happily. "Are you and Jess.... friends?" She asked me. "Well, we haven't actually talked about it. But we just started talking to each other so I guess I'll have to clarify that with her in the long run." "I'm sorry if Jessica hurt you in any way Cody." Allie said. I was confused. "There's no need to apologize Allie. I was never really hurt because of Jessica." I said to her. "You know Cody, our parents' split took a hard toll on us. It hurt Jessica the most. She just doesn't show it. She's an amazing sister Cody. She always puts my needs and Mom's before her own. But deep down, I know how she really copes with life even though she never shows it." I nodded my head. We chatted like this the whole time Jessica was preparing dinner. I got to know a little more about Jessica from Allie. About half an hour later, Jessica called us for dinner. It smelled heavenly. Jessica watched as I took a bite. "How is it?" She asked me. "It's very delicious." I said and she smiled. I was actually telling the truth. The food tasted as good as it smelled. Jessica was indeed a very good cook. I wish to taste her food more often. Maybe I will, since I'll be staying hear for a week. After dinner was over, Jessica washed the dishes while Allie and I were in the hall. After doing the dishes, Jessica joined us in the hall. "What would you guys like to do now?" She asked. "Movie." Allie screamed. So after a while of debating over which movie to watch, we finally settled on watching Cabin In The Woods. Jessica played the movie and sat down on one of the couches while Allie and I sat on the other. Throughout the movie we were all silent so that we would not miss our favourite scenes. After the movie ended, Allie let out a yawn. "You tired?" Jessica asked. Allie nodded. "Let's get you to bed then." Jessica said as she got up from the couch and ushered Allie to follow her. She turned towards me and said: "Be back in a minute." I gave her a thumbs up. After putting Allie to bed, Jessica came back downstairs. "Sorry bout that." She said as she took a seat next to me. "No problem." I assured her. There was silence between us for a few minutes. "Cody..." Jessica began. "I'm sorry for how I acted towards you." She said. "Why do you have to be sorry Jess? You did nothing wrong to me." I said. "I know I've hurt you in a way Cody. I refused to give you a chance to get to know me. My behaviour towards you was very rude. I acted like that because I was scared." She said. "Scared of what?" I asked her. "Ever since my dad cheated on my mom, I was broken. My dad was everything to me Cody. I When I heard about this, I was so broken. I had no one to turn too. I trusted my dad a lot. I guess when the trust was broken, my whole world shattered. Ever since then, I made a promise to myself that I would never fall in love with any guy. When I met you, I was scared. Scared because if I got closer with you, I would fall for you. And I don't want to go through hell again. I won't be able to take it if that happens. I thought that if I acted that way, you would just eventually give up and leave me alone. But you were very persistent and never gave up on me even though all I did was push you away. That's proves that you have a very good heart. To think that I have hurt such a person like you makes me feel all the more guilty. I am truly sorry. I hope that you will find it in your heart to forgive me." She said with tears in her eyes. I could see that she was trying so hard not to cry. I reached out and patted her back. "Let it all out." I whispered to her. I embraced her in a hug and she poured out all her emotions. We sat there just like that for a while. Jessica crying her heart out and me comforting her. After a while, Jessica spoke up: "It's getting late. I think we should go to bed." I nodded in agreement. So we both went upstairs and Jessica led me to the guest room. "Here is where you will be sleeping. Hope everything's fine in hear. If you need anything just call ok?" "Sure will." Before Jessica turned to leave, she said: "Thanks Cody for everything." "Your welcome. That's what friends are for. We're friends now aren't we?" I asked. She smiled at me and said: "Yeah. We're friends now. Goodnight Cody." "Goodnight Jess." I said and she left. I got into bed and drifted off to sleep with ease because Jessica and I were friends and she opened up to me about the things that have been troubling her. Looks like part one of my mission is complete. Now for part two: keeping her happy always.
