CHAPTER 6

Cody's POV:

After Jessica left, I went to get the ketchup. That was the main reason I was here for. I came here with my mates: Julian, Blake, Carlos and Jordan. "What took you so long bro?" Jordan asked. "Sorry bout that. Just had a little encounter with someone." I replied. "Yeah we noticed you "little encounter" with that someone." Carlos said. "Isn't she the new kid in our school?" Blake asked. "Yeah she is. Her names Jessica." I said as I took a seat next to Julian. "Wow! looks like someone's been stalking her." Julian said. "Nah. We've met before. Remember the ball incident?" I asked them. They all nodded their heads. "She's the one." I said. "The one who was intimidated by you?" Carlos questioned. I nodded. "You my friend have found yourself some tough girl." Blake pointed out. "Thanks Blake. Not that I haven't noticed." I replied sarcastically. "She's different guys." I said to them. "What makes you think that way Cody?" Julian asked. "Well, for starters she's not like most girls who would actually melt in their places when they see me. But she didn't. Instead she faced with confidence. No one has ever been like that to me before. And to be totally honest, I kinda liked that." "But dude, you hardly even know her." Jordan pointed out. "True. And from what I've gathered in just these two encounters, I can see that she is not easy to get to know. But that doesn't deter me even a bit. It just made me more determined to get to know her." I said. "Wow, I've never seen you so determined to get to know a girl, Cody." Carlos said. "Yeah it's not like you man. I mean you've met loads of girls but you're hardly interested." Blake said. "Like I said guys. She's different and I want to get to know her better." "Sure you do." Julian said. At first I was confused by what Julian said but then I understood what he really meant. "Not in that way you fools." I said. "Oh, we understand. Cody." Jordan said and patted my back. "The school's playboy is finally in love." They said in unsion. "I am so not in love guys. Is it wrong to get to know her and perhaps make a new friend?" I asked. "Not yet. But soon you will be. We're one hundred percent sure about it." Blake said. I gave up trying to argue with them because it would be of no use. They would never understand me. But in my mind I was sure of one thing: That I was determined to get to know Jessica no matter what.
