Cody's POV:
I told Jessica to wait in the car while I go fetch my brother. I waited patiently for nearly ten minutes at the school's main gates as the gates were closed. Finally, the gates were opened and one by one students came running out. It was hard to spot my brother amongst the crowd of parents and kids. From a distance I heard someone shout: "Cody! Cody!" I turned and sure enough there was my brother. A smile found its way onto my lips and the next thing I knew I was running in the direction of my brother and engulfed him in a hug. "Hey there Kyle! How are you buddy? How was the program? I missed you a lot." "I missed you too Cody. I'm fine. The teachers took really good care of us. The program was great. I benefited a lot from it. BTW, where's mom and dad?" Kyle asked me as he looked behind me. "I'm sorry buddy. But mom and dad are currently abroad. They won't be around for a week. In the meantime, you and I will be staying over at a very close friend's of mom and dad's house. Her daughter is also my friend." I explained to Kyle. "Is she nice?" Kyle asked. "She's very nice Kyle. She's one of the nicest girls I know." I told him. "Let's go to the car. She's waiting for us there." I said. "To the car it is!" Kyle said as he skipped all the way to the car while I followed behind him chuckling at his actions. When he reached the car, I noticed Jessica wasn't inside. I searched until I found her a few meters further from the car. She was on the phone with somebody. I assumed that it was most probably her mom. Minutes later, she ended the phone call and headed towards our direction. "Jess, I would like to introduce you to my brother, Kyle. Kyle meet Jessica. We will be staying at her house for this one week." I said. "Hello Kyle." Jessica said. "It's great to finally meet you. I almost didn't know that you existed because your brother over here forgot to mention about you." At this Kyle chuckled while I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly. "It's nice to meet you too Jessica. Thanks for allowing us to stay with you." Kyle said. "It's no big deal Kyle. Besides, the house is pretty quiet now as there's only three of us. But with your presence, the house will be even more cheerful." Jessica said and Kyle smiled. "Speaking of your house, I think we'd better be heading back now. Allie will be waiting." I said. "Who's Allie?" Kyle asked curiously. "Allie is my sister. She's your age. I think you two might get along really well." Jessica said and Kyle nodded. We got into the car and drove off. As soon as we reached the house, Kyle jumped out of the car in pure excitement and followed Jessica who ushered him to follow her while I grabbed Kyle's bags and brought them into the house. As soon as Jessica opened the house, she called out: "Allie! Where are you? Please come down. I want you to meet someone." Minutes later, Allie came running down the stairs. "Hey, Jess. Hey, Cody. Why were you guys late? Who's this?" She said motioning towards Kyle. "Allie, I would like you to meet Kyle. He's Cody's brother and he'll be staying here with us for the week. You too are the same age." Jessica added. "Hi." Allie said shyly. "Hi." Kyle said too a little shy. " We entered the house and Jessica spoke up: "How about you and Kyle hang out in the living room for a bit and get to know each other while Cody and I prepare dinner?" "That's a good idea." I replied and Jessica and I went into the kitchen leaving behind the two youngsters to themselves. "Do you think they will be ok?" Jessica asked me as soon as we were out of earshot. "Don't worry about them Jess. They'll be fine. They're just a little shy. Just give them a bit of time, and they'll become friends in no time." I assured her. "You're right. I should stop worrying and let them take their time. Anyways, we'd better get started with dinner." She said. "Yes ma'am." I said and listened attentively to whatever she told me to do. A while later, I went to check up on Kyle and Allie after much pesturing from Jessica. I saw that the TV was on and both Kyle and Allie were laughing their heads off. It seems that the shyness has gone and they're starting to get to know each other. I motioned for Jessica to check this out and she did. "That's great. Finally." She said. "Yeah finally you don't have to worry so much about the two of them and focus properly on preparing dinner because you couldn't seem to concentrate properly." I said and chuckled. Jessica glared at me for a while but soon she too started laughing along with me.
