~Alexandrea?~ (chapter 6)

Meredith's P.O.V 

i drive home and pull into my driveway when i see Shawn walking down my road with his head down and earphones in, "what the hell..." i whisper to myself. i get out the car and lock it. I walk down my driveway to get the mail. 

"Meredith...? is that really you?" Shawn says to me. I turn around and face him. ''yeah. its me, go ahead. tell them, punch me. do what you want" I say while shaking "I'm not gonna tell them, or hurt you. i've never punched you" he says takin g a step closer to me. I think back, and he's right, i don't remember him ever hurting me physically... "Well then what do you want from me..." I ask taking again another step back "i wanted to say i'm sorry... i never wanted this to happen but i was scared that if i were to say something that they would start bullying me too... i know that doesn't really make anything okay, but i was wondering if we could be friends" he says looking down 

"Of course Shawn, id be more then happy to be your friend, but please don't tell them i'm me, tell them i'm Alexandrea, Amanda's cousin... in case i were to see them in public" i say looking into his eyes "of course, id do anything for you" he says back " i gotta go, i can see my mom looking through the window" i say laughing. he turns and snickers "okay bye Meredi.. Alexandrea" he smiles awkwardly "bye Shawn" i say and surprise him and myself and hug him. he hugs back and we stay like that for awhile until i finally let him go. he turns around and starts to walk away. I close the mailbox and walk up to the front door. I look over my shoulder at him, to my surprise he's already looking back at me, i smile and wave, he smiles back as i close the front door.

 i turn around and my moms sitting on the couch smirking at me "what" i say "okay for one, you look AMAZING, and two, who's that?" she says flipping the TV channels "thanks mama, you really like the new look?" i smile "Yes, you look beautiful but you didn't answer my question, who was that?" she laughs "oh, thats Shawn Mendes, he's just a friend" i answer "oh Meredith, shut up, i see the way you smiled at him. and see, you're still smiling" i ignore her statement and walk into the kitchen "i promise, were just friends" i grab a water "whatever floats your boat, as long as you used protection" she says as she sits on the couch "Mom, we didn't do any of that geez" i laugh and sit next to her "are you really gonna let me do homeschooling with Amanda?" i ask her "if thats what you want to do then yes, ill let you do it. but if your grades drop at all, i'm putting you back into foothill, got it?" She says seriously "Yes mama, thank you, i love you" i hug her "i love you too, now go to bed, i'm taking you over to Amanda's tomorrow before i go to work so she can help you figure things out she says and lets go "alright, goodnight i love you" i say and begin to walk up the stairs "i love you too, i hear her say. 

i go into my room and change into shorts and a tank top, i put my phone on the charger and pull my hair into a messy bun. i climb into bed and pull a blanket on top of me. The last thing i remember before falling asleep is thinking, 

Maybe things are actually getting better for me
