"Meredith. baby wake up" i say, slightly shaking Meredith, her beautiful eyes opening
"are we there?" she says.
"no, were about halfway there. but i figured i'd stop and get something to eat. im starving and you need to eat anyways." i say turning off the car. she looks out the window and then smiles
"iHop?" she says. i chuckle
"yes" i open the door and get out
"i havent had iHop since. well last time we were at iHop" she says scratching the back of her neck.
"uh. yeah lets go" i mumble walking next to her and grabbing her hand. we walk in silence to the front door.
"you know we could have went to Mcdonalds and i would have been happy right?" she says as i open the door for her
"yeah i don't care" i say. she rolls her eyes and we walk through the door.
"two?" the dude says, i nod. he grabs two menus and walks up to our table.
"My name is Trevor and ill be your server tonight. can i get you guys some coffee or soda?" he asks. i look at Meredith to see her looking at me
"i just want sprite please" she says.
"same" i nod. he smiles and walks away.
"what you planning on getting?" i ask her looking at the menu.
"chicken and waffles" she smirks. i groan and lean back
"of course. i should have known" i chuckle
"are you making fun of my meal choices" she raises an eye brow
"nope. not at all" i smile. the waiter comes back and takes our orders, after he walks away. i quickly take out my phone
"baby. pose for a picture" i smirk at her.
"no Shawn i look like a complete trash can" she groans.
"please just one picture" i pout. making her roll her eyes
"fine. but one picture and you better not post it" she says leaning against the window. i snap a couple of pictures and then look at them
"awh baby your so cute" i smile going to Instagram
"let me see" she says leaning over the table
"nope. go to Instagram. you can see it there" i smirk.
"Shawn no why did you do that" she says pulling out her phone

"Shawn really" Meredith says. i shrug and lock my phone
"you're cute. now shut up. and hey. how come your name is still Alexandrea even though you go by Meredith?" i ask her.
"i'm not sure. i just. all the fans know me as Alexandrea. thats the name i got famous with. and i feel like if i changed it. it'd be confusing. i don't know. i'm not sure if i'm ready to change it" she laughs. i feel my phone vibrating, i pick it up and see that Katelyn is calling. i look at Meredith and she raises an eye brow
"who is it?" she says.
"uh. its my sister. gotta take this" i mumble standing up. i answer it as i walk outside
"hello? why are you calling me" i say. i hear her sniffle through the phone.
"Shawn..." she starts
"Katelyn. i don't want to hear it. i already told you. were over" i say
"no Shawn. we have a problem" she says sounding like she's been crying
"what happened this time" i lean against the brick wall.
"i.. i think i'm pregnant" she says and it feels like the whole world stops
"what? no. it can't be mine. We only did it once and I used protection" I say shaking my head.
"you're the only one who I did it with" she says, I chuckle
"I seriously doubt that" I mumble
"Shawn I'm serious. You are the only one who I had sex with. So, it has to be yours. I'm coming there next week. I need to talk to you in person. And don't worry. I'll get a hotel room" she says before she hangs up and the phone goes click. I lean against the wall and slowly slide to the ground.
"Shawn, I just wanted to tell you the food is here" Meredith peeks her head out
"I'll be in there in a minute" I mumble.
"what's wrong?" she walks out and kneels down next to me
"nothing I'm fine. Let's go inside and eat" I smile standing up
there was no way I was going to tell her. not now. Not until I know she's truly pregnant
"Shawn, I know there's something wrong" she looks up at me
"nope. Nothing's wrong" I wrap my arms around her and kiss her forehead
"okay... but you know you can always talk to me if you need to" she mumbles
"of course," I say smiling the fakest smile I have ever smiled. I walk to the door and open it for her.
"thanks" she goes in and I follow her to the table. We eat in silence with a little small talk. The Waiter brings the check and I pay for the food
"if you tell me where were going I could drive the rest of the way" she smirks at me. I laugh and shake my head
"not going to tell you. you'll figure it out eventually" I smile. We walk out to the car and get in.
"thank you" she whispers. I look at her and raise an eyebrow
"for what?" I ask.
"for doing this. For being here even if I don't deserve it" she says looking down at her lap.
"hey. Why wouldn't you deserve it? you deserve the world" I say rubbing her thigh.
"because of everything that happened before you left." She says, a tear rolling off her cheek and onto her leg
"that's in the past now. Don't think about that. you're the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with. You're the girl I want to marry. And I sound really cringy right now. But Meredith. Can we try this. Try us again? Will you be my girlfriend? Again?" I grab her hand. She looks at me with those beautiful brown eyes and smiles
"of course, Shawn" she leans over and hugs me.
"now will you tell me where were going?" she mumbles into my chest.
"oh my god. No were leaving now. It's a surprise" I laugh starting the car.
"fine" she mumbles going back over to her seat and looking out the window
"I love you" I smile at her. she rolls her eyes and sighs
"I love you too Shawn" she smiles shaking her head
how the hell am I going to tell her I got Katelyn pregnant
