I wake up and feel Jace beside me. He looks so hot as he sleeps. His golden hair ruffled and a smile on his face. Stop it! He doesn't like you. He never will! You know that! Now that he's seen your scars, there's no way he'll ever find you attractive. Once he finds out you're a slut, he'll avoid you, like they all do.

One good thing out of all of this, I felt safe last night, after we talked. I didn't have a single nightmare about my dad. One of the best partial nights of sleep I've gotten in...what 7 years. Jace starts to stir and I know it's time to come back into reality.

"Hey Red, Good morning," Jace sleepily greets.

"Hey, Jace, thanks again for yesterday. I.....I'd really like it, if we could be friends. You've been a great friend, already. So...what do you think?" I ask. This is reality. I have to set my feelings aside. He doesn't like me and I would never betray Izzy like that. Plus, it'll be nice to have a boy friend, besides Simon. I convince myself.

"Yeah sure, that sounds great!" Jace excitedly exclaims.

See, I knew he didn't like me. There's no way he would've been that cool about it, if he did. I go to get dressed and awkwardly realize I'm in Jace's clothes. I go to the bathroom and wash my face. Looking in the mirror at my naked body, I shudder thinking Jace saw some of the scars. They make my skin look old and wrinkly and it nauseates me. I can only imagine how Jace feels about them. I sigh and get dressed.

Walking back into the room, I see Jace sitting on my bed. "Hey, you should get out, before Izzy sees you. Saying we fell asleep talking two nights in a row, may seem suspicious," I explain.

"Yeah, that's a good point. See you later Red," Jace says and with that, he's gone. I sit there for a while, thinking about him. So much has happened in the past week. I've met new friends, talked about things I've never talked about before, and then there's these growing feelings about Jace. I know I shouldn't like him. He's WAY out of my league.

Jace

I wake up holding Red in my arms, "Hey Red, Good morning," I sleepily mumble.

"Hey, Jace, thanks again for yesterday. I.....I'd really like it, if we could be friends. You've been a great friend, already. So...what do you think?" Red asks.

Friends! She wants us to be friends. Of course, she just wanted someone to comfort her last night. It didn't mean anything to her. She was in a compromised position. "Yeah sure, that sounds great!" I say, trying not to let my disappointment out.

With that, Red goes to get ready for the day. I just sit there and think about her scars. She's so beautiful and brave. Those scars aren't something she should be ashamed of. I wish I could tell her how I feel about her, but knowing the feeling isn't mutual, it makes things more complicated.

As Red walks back into her room, she sees me on her bed and warns, "Hey, you should get out, before Izzy sees you. Saying we fell asleep talking two nights in a row, may seem suspicious."

"Yeah, that's a good point. See you later Red," I reply and quickly go to my room.

Izzy knocks on my door. "There's a party tonight at my friend Mangus' house. We're going and it starts at 8 o'clock, but we're going to start getting ready at 4. In the mean time, how do you feel about truth or dare?" Izzy asks.

"Um.....sure, why not," I reply. Izzy, Magus, Alec, Simon, Jace, and I meet in the basement living room and get in a circle.

"Okay, since I'm the sleepover host, I get to go first," Izzy proclaims. No one objects and so it begins. "Clary, truth or dare?" Izzy asks.
