Author's Note: I know days can get confusing. As a reader, I like to be able to know what day of the week it is, so I'll tell you if I think it might be confusing. It's Tuesday in the book. Also, the talk during English in no way is meant to cause issues. It's just that in English, students talk about current events. Also, shout out to malmal82 Her pleas inspired me to finally update!

I wake up in Jace's arms. The memories from last night flood back. I can't believe that happened! I carefully slide out of Jace's arms. "Jace, you've got to get up, and get ready for school," I say.

"Okay," Jace sleepily replies. "I have an idea of something I'd like to do with you after school today. Are you up for doing something with me?"

"Yeah, but what is it?" I ask.

"Sorry Red. I can't say, just meet me outside of the school at the normal time. Instead of me dropping you off, we'll go straight to our destination. Don't worry about an outfit," Jace responds. Ugh! Why can't he just tell me? I don't like surprises.

"Okay," I concede. I end up wearing something a little nice, just in case we go somewhere in public. (Minus the watch and hat)

I can't wait! I'm going to take Clary on our first official date! I hope she likes where I take her! What if she doesn't? I...I mean I've never taken a girl here before. I just have to make sure everything is perfect.

School

Sitting in Social Studies isn't too bad. We have a sub, so we're just doing some worksheet on revolutions between WWI and WWII. There's Hitler of Germany, who everyone knows about. Then, there's Stalin of the USSR, Mussolini of Italy, and Hirohito of Japan. Basically, they're all totalitarians.

"Hello class, today we're going to start a discussion about School Safety," Mrs. Johnson says. She then divides us into three categories; pro gun, pro gun control, and neutral. We have 20 minutes to come up with a strategy and then we'll debate with the other side. The neutral side will assess our debate and pick a "winner."

Red, Izzy, and I are pro gun. Simon's is neutral. Alec and Magus are pro gun control. All in all, you could say it's a mixed class. Red and I kind of work together inside the group while Izzy and the rest of the group do their own thing. Red and I stand in the corner, so we have some privacy. "So, what is something we could use?" I ask Red.

"Well, we learned about Pol Pot recently in Social Studies. People were forced to move form the city to the countryside and in a total of 4 years over a million Cambodian's were killed. We could mention something about how being a police state isn't good. Giving up that power to the government could be catastrophic," Red suggests.

"That sounds great!" I reply. "You're so smart!"

"Thanks," Red blushes a bit and looks away. "Okay, so now you have to come you with a reason."

"Okay.....how about...okay I got it. The United States is known as the "melting pot." People come from all over to have the chance to live in the US. They want to live here because they can be free of religious, political, and racial persecution amongst other things. One of them being the right to bare arms. If people don't like that the US is about freedom, then they should move somewhere else. Japan might not have school shootings, but people can't even be in possession of a gun. The citizens are too restricted to even think of it. The US is built on the foundation of freedom. It's not something we can just change," I reply. Red looks a little bit taken back. "Yes, I can make an argument."

"Okay class, it's time to regroup," Mrs. Johnson says.

"Red, you should say your idea in the argument. It's really good," I whisper in her ear.

"Jace, I....I can't do that," Red sheepishly replies.

"Yes, you can Red. I believe in you," I assure her. She nods and raises her hand.

"Yes Ms. Fray," Mrs. Johnson replies.

"Well, we learned about Pol Pot recently in Social Studies. Basically, he was a part of the Khmer Rouge, more like the leader. He believed in totalitarianism. The Khmer Rouge moved citizens (by force with guns or machetes) from the city to the countryside and in a total of 4 years over a million Cambodian's were killed. We can't let the US become a police state. Giving up that power to the government could be catastrophic," Red says surprisingly confidently.

"Wow, Ms. Fray that certainly is a good point, thank you for sharing," Mrs. Johnson smiles at Red. That's my Red! Yes! I can't believe she just said all of that! I'm so proud of her!

Red walks back to me. "Good job Red. I'm so proud of you. I promise I'll make it up to you later," I whisper to Red. Her face radiates warmth and I smile at her.

Next, Alec and Magus tag team their argument for pro gun control. "If people had to take more tests to get a gun, people wouldn't be shooting up schools," Alec begins.

"If we make sure people are of a right mental state of mind, in order to buy guns, crazy people wouldn't get their hands on guns," Mangus explains.

"Well, if someone is dead set on shooting up a school or anywhere, they're going to do it. Criminals don't care if they legally purchase their guns. They'll just illegal obtain a gun," Red peeps again. Damn! Red's on a roll! Go Red!

"Well have to finish this later class," Mrs. Johnson says.

After school

Red meets me by my car. "Red, you were amazing today!" I shout as she walks closer to me.

"Jace, not so loud," Red looks away from me embarrassed.

"You ready for your surprise?" I ask mischievously.

"Jace, what do you have planned?" Red asks me slightly worried.

"All in good time Red. All in good time," I smile at her.
