Clarissa
The last bell rings and I spot Izzy. "Hey, can I get a ride to your house please?" I ask.
"Sure, you want to see Jace," What? How does she know about us? "Clarrisa, we're not stupid. We figured out your dating. Now, I'll drop you off before I go to Simon's. Let's go." Izzy and I get in her car and she drives me to her house.
"Thank you, Iz," I say before stepping out if her car. I make my way to Jace's room to see him staring into nothingness laying on his bed. Then, I see it. Laying next to him, there's a knife. W...why does Jace have a knife?
"J.....Jace," I stutter. Immediately, Jace sits up on high alert. "W.....what are you doing with that knife?"
"Red, I'm sorry. I have to make sure I never do it again," Jace responds. He presses the blade to his neck.
"Jace, what are you doing? Please put the knife down!" I beg.
"D.....don't you want this? This is the only way I won't hurt you again. I....I can't hurt you again," Jace explains.
"Jace, you didn't hurt me. Just throw the knife into the bathroom and we can talk about this, please," I beg.
"Red, I know I must've hurt you. Y....you left this morning because I'm a m....monster," Jace explains.
"No, put the knife down and I'll explain everything, I promise," I beg.
"O...okay," Jace replies. Then, he carefully throws the knife into the bathroom. I rush into his arms.
Tears roll down my cheeks, "Jace what we're you thinking?" I cry. "I....I could've lost you." I hit his chest over and over, he makes no attempt to stop me.
"Red....l....last night. D.....did I....force you? D....did I....r......r.....rape you?" Jace asks lugubriously.
"What?" I ask revolted. "No! Why would you think that?"
"Y....you left. I....I just figured I must've.....raped you," Jace begins. "I...I thought it was consensual, but then I got to thinking. Yes, I asked every time I did something. But, what if you lost your voice? What if you were too scared to say no? What if I....I just got off in you while you were silently praying I'd stop? I....I'm my dad, and I have to kill myself before I hurt you again."
"Jace, no! You didn't rape me. Last night was euphoric! I loved it!" I shout. How do I fix this? "Baby, look at me." Jace's eyes move from being trained to the floor to looking into mine. "I wanted to do that with you last night. You didn't do anything wrong. If I wanted to stop, I would've told you. I'll always feel like I can tell you because you make me feel safe expressing my true feelings to you. You said no consequences if I have to tell me to stop and I know you meant it. Jace," I take his face in my hands, "you are absolutely 100% not your father. You're loving," kiss "caring," kiss "gentle," kiss "respectful," kiss "loyal," kiss "trustworthy," kiss "and I love you," kiss.
"W...why did you leave me then?" Jace asks weakly as if he's not sure he wants to hear my reason.
"I....I was scared.....no nervous that maybe I wasn't good last night. I didn't want you to tell me it was horrible," I explain. "I'm so sorry you thought....." Jace places his hand on my cheek gently.
"It's okay," Jace whispers to me. "Last night was magical, for me. You were amazing and perfect. I couldn't have asked for better. I never intended on looking either. Red, I'm all yours, you've got me. Red....when I thought I'd hurt you, I didn't know what to do."
"Jace, you didn't hurt me. I'm fine, actually I'm better than fine, I'm over the moon. I'm so sorry I had you thinking all of those and things about yourself. I want you to know none of them are true, not a single one. Last night, you and I made love to eachother. We both wanted to and if I recall correctly, we both.....hit our limit at the same time. We both wanted that and we both consented to it."
"But....what if-" Jace begins, but I cut him off my gently pressing my lips to his. He gently, always so gently, returns the kiss.
"Jace, you'll never be your dad," I answer his concern. "You, Jace Herondale, are more of a man than your dad will ever be." I crash my lips back into his, before he can respond. With a quick push, he's laying on his bed with me on top of him. I swiftly pull Jace's shirt off.
"Someone's anxious," Jace teases me.
"Well, I've had all of this built up worry all day, so now I'd like to make sure it was all vain, if you're up for it," I explain.
"That's funny, I too had a bunch of built up worry today too. I'm game," Jace replies. His hands find my cheeks and brings my face slowly to his face. I close my eyes in anticipation of him. Our lips connect and our tongues dance. I find my hand wandering to Jace's scar. It's a fascinating texture for my fingers. For some reason, it feels different than mine. I just hope Jace doesn't mind.
"Jace, can I...." This is such an awkward question! "Do you mind me putting my hand on your scar?" I ask.
"Not at all Red," Jace whispers to me. After a good half our of making out, I'm tired, but I don't want to go to be just yet.
"Jace, would you......sing to me," I ask.
"What do you want to hear Red?" Jace asks.
"Our song," I peep.
"And what is that Red?" Jace asks curiously.
"After you picked me up from Sebastian's house, on the way to my house, you sang it. At the time, I thought you were just singing, but you weren't were you? You were singing to me? Telling me everything you couldn't at the time," I ask nervously.
Jace smiles at me. "Of course I was singing it to you, Red. Lay your head on my chest," Jace whispers. I rest my head on his chest. His voice is sweet and quiet like I'm the only one who gets to hear it.
"I wanna live with you
Even when we're ghosts. 'Cause you were always there for me when I needed you most. I'm gonna love you till
My lungs give out. I promise till death we part like in our vows. So I wrote this song for you, now everybody knows. That it's just you and me till we're grey and old. Just say you won't let go. Just say you won't let go.""Red, you want to go to bed now," Jace asks. I nod. Since I never bring pajamas, Jace loans me one of his shirts. He changes into sweats and a shirt as well. Pulling me close once we're in his bed, I feel safe. Minutes later, I'm drifting off to the sound of Jace's heartbeat.
