Jace's POV from previous Chapter

"No, it's fine. I like it when you wear my clothes," Jace whispers into my ear. I was right! His grip is harder against my waist, and his hands tease my hips. I doze off.....

"Please don't please, I'm sorry. Please, I'm sorry," Jace cries as his arms and legs move in discomfort. What's happening? Jace is having a nightmare! Okay....don't panic. You need to be here for him, like he has been for you.

"Hey, it's okay I'm right here," I whisper in his ear in a vain attempt to soothe him. Jace shakes and whimpers. I've got to do something! Wake him up! Okay....I could kiss him but....no. If he kissed me, I'd probably freak out. Okay.....uh....think think....maybe shake his shoulders. I would be mortified if he touched me somewhere I had issues with. There's a chance I might touch him somewhere he doesn't like..... no....ugh....what happened to him! Who would hurt Jace? Me...I understand. I'm not special or unique....but Jace. Okay.....turn the light on then talk to him. Make sure Jace knows it's you and then talk to him...yeah....that'll work! I turn to the lamp by his nightstand and flip it on. "Jace....it's Red. I know your having a nightmare, but it's not happening. Jace, you're here with me in your bed. You're safe! Okay....you're safe. Just wake up, please," I try. Jace slowly opens his golden eyes.

"Red, what happened?" Jace asks groggily.

"Jace you......had a nightmare. You were.....pleaing for.....someone not to do something and....apologizing," I stutter. What happened to him? I wish he would tell me!

"Red....are you okay? I'm sorry you had to see that," Jace responds and avoids my eyes.

"Jace....I'm okay, but what about you?" I question. He won't look at me. Is he embarrassed?

"I....I don't want to talk about it," Jace deflects. Okay, don't push him! He didn't push you, and you have to give him the same respect.

"Jace, you know you can talk to me whenever you feel like it, right?" I ask.

"Red, I know you want to help, but it's hard," Jace whispers. Preaching to the choir!

"I know it's hard. Remember when you wanted to know about me, and it took me a while. I want you to take as much time as you need," I explain. Hopefully not too long!

"Red, it's the middle of the night. Maybe, we should get back to sleep," Jace tries and changes the subject.

"One more thing....how do I wake you up if you have another nightmare?" I question.

"The way you did it just now, that's perfect, thank you," Jace answers. I can't help it, I carefully grab his chin, so he has to look me in the eyes. A move he has done many times to me. For a minute, I just gaze at him in silence. I take the chance to peck his lips. As I pull away, his hands secure my waist and he deepens the kiss. Only pulling away, to breathe. He buries his face in my neck and falls back asleep.

(Author's Note: It's Friday in the story. Just so you know. I know it can be a little confusing.)

My alarm goes off and I carefully slide my arms away from Red. Yesterday, we had a long day and a longer night, so I'll wake her up in an hour. She'll still have plenty of time to get ready, but honestly, I'm hoping she doesn't mention what happened last night. As I take a quick shower, I think about the last time I had a nightmare that bad. It had been at least a year. Brushing my hair, I decide not to mention the nightmare and if she asks, I'll try to tell her. By the time I brush my teeth, I'm playing all of the different scenarios in my head of what she'll say. As its nearing the end of that extra hour, I climb back into bed. Slowly, I tuck my hands around her waist. My lips gently blow into her neck. "Red," I whisper, making the air dance across her bare neck. It sends shivers down my spine. If only she knew what she does to me! Her face looks so content and I can't help but smile at her peacefulness. "Red, it's time to wake up."

Red stirs, "What time is it?" Red asks playing with her red curls.

"I wanted you to get some extra sleep, since I figured you were really tired," I begin and look at my clock. "It's 7:05 in the morning."

"Jace....thanks for letting me sleep, but you didn't have to. I'm sure you were tired too from yesterday. When.....you want to talk about it, I'm here," Red replies.

"Red, I want to talk about it really. Maybe you could come over this weekend," I offer.

"Sure I'll have to check in with my mom, but I should be able to," Red smiles. Her green eyes pierce mine, until I realize, she needs to get ready and she's not entirely sure what to do.

"Feel free to use my bathroom to get ready Red," I say. "There's an extra toothbrush in the cabinet that's all yours. You can use whatever you want, it's okay with me." Red slowly walks into the bathroom after grabbing her clothes and shuts the door. That was easier than I thought it'd be. I hope she's okay in there. I think I have everything she'd need. I mean I don't have makeup, but I have a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, mouthwash. What am I missing? Oh crap....the magazines (Author's Note: Look at picture in the beginning) are on the rack! "Red, hang on," I manage, and I quickly open the door.
