Clarissa
After the game, we go to Sebastian's house for the party. Apparently, his parents are gone for the week. Correction, Alec, Magnus, Simon, Izzy, Sebastian, random people, and I go to the party. Jace says he has too much homework. I find it odd, because he doesn't really seem like the type of person, to let homework stop him from having fun. "Do you want a drink?" Sebastian asks me, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, sure. Just nothing with alcohol," I reply.
"One non-alcoholic beverage coming right up," Sebastian smiles as he leaves to get the drink. I make sure to stay next to my friends and I have a lot of fun. Izzy and I are dancing like crazy, when Sebastian comes back. Then, the music changes and it's a slow dance. "Would you like to dance?" Sebastian asks.
"Yes, I would," I smile. We talk towards eachother and he puts his hands on my waist. Just breathe. This is something normal girlfriends can do, dance with their boyfriend. Just calm down. By the time I'm calm, the song is over and we're moving back apart. We have fun for a few hours, but it's a school night and my mom will kill me, if I stay out past nine thirty. "Hey, Sebastian. I need a ride home," I nudge him, to get his attention.
"One second Clarissa," Sebastian drunkenly replies.
"On second thought, I think Izzy wanted to take me, sorry, I forgot," I lie, not wanting him to drive drunk.
I leave Sebastian and look for Izzy. "Hey Izzy, I need a ride," I ask.
"Sorry, but I didn't drive here. Remember, Sebastian drove us both from the game," Izzy reminds me.
"Oh yeah, I forgot," I reply. Then, I call the only other person I can think of to call, Jace. My phone rings, "Hey Jace, I know you have a lot of homework, but I need a ride home, please," I ask.
"Where are you again?" Jace asks.
"Sebastian's house," I answer.
"You're at Sebastian's house," Jace echoes. "Yeah, I'll be there in 10 minutes."
"Okay, thanks Jace," I say.
"You're welcome, bye," Jace responds and hangs up.
Jace
My phone rings, "Hey Jace, I know you have a lot of homework, but I need a ride home, please," Red asks
"Where are you again?" I ask. After the game, Red was standing with Sebastian and I didn't want to be there, so I just said I had to do homework and left.
"Sebastian's house," Red answers.
"You're at Sebastian's house," I repeat. She's at Sebastian's house. I...ugh...just help her. It's what friends do. "Yeah, I'll be there in 10 minutes."
"Okay, thanks Jace," Red replies.
"You're welcome, bye," I hang up. Different scenarios play in my head on my way to Red and I don't like any one them. Most of then involve clothes, or a lack there of. I knock on the door to Sebastian's house, and Red's waiting by the door, fully clothed. Thank the Angel. Never thought it'd be thanking the Angel for a girl having all of her clothes on.
"Hey Jace, thanks for helping me," Red says.
"No problem....if you don't mind me asking, why can't Sebastian drive you home?" I question. "I will always help you, I'm just curious."
"Sebastian is a good guy, okay. It's just with the win, he's celebrating with alcohol. I just didn't want to ask him to drive me home, okay." Red snaps.
"Hey, calm down," I gently defend. "Do you want to go now?"
"Yeah, you know my mom and school nights," Red replies. We get in the car and drive to her house. "Say you won't let go," by James Arthur comes on the radio, when Red is radios searching. I start singing it to her, but I don't look at her, so it seems as if I'm just singing it.
I met you in the dark, you lit me up. You made me feel as though I was enough.
It's true thought, Red is my light and she makes me feel special when she smiles at me.
We danced the night away, we drank too much.
I held your hair back when
You were throwing up.Close enough, but you had a horrible nightmare.
Then you smiled over your shoulder.
For a minute, I was stone-cold sober.
I pulled you closer to my chest.
And you asked me to stay overI was too far gone, to say no.
I said, I already told ya,
I think that you should get some rest.
I knew I loved you then,
But you'd never know.
'Cause I played it cool when I was scared of letting go
I know I needed you
But I never showed
But I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old
Just say you won't let go
Just say you won't let goRed just looks at me with a blank face. "Jace, I didn't know you could sing!" Red exclaims.
"I can't......not really," I stutter nervous. "I NEVER sing in front of people, but I just couldn't help it, sorry."
"Don't apologize, it was beautiful," Red confesses.
"You....really think so?" I ask unconvinced.
"Yes!" Red exclaims. I pull into her driveway. "Thanks, I'll see you at school tomorrow," Red says and with that, she gets out and goes to her house.
I pull out of her driveway and head home. Once I get there, I go into my room and think about Red. I can't help myself, she's just so interesting. She's always surprising me with her niceness. I wish she would just give me a chance. Ugh, I'll see her tomorrow, to bad she'll be in the arms of Sebastian.

I do not own any of the Mortal Instruments books, materials, etc. All credit belongs to Cassandra Clare. I also do not own the song "Say you won't let get," by James Arthur, he deserves all credit.
