Wendy never cared about her grades. She was failing all of her classes without a care in her world. None of the teachers bothered to reach out to her and obviously her family didn't either. However, her math teacher was concerned. Mr. Oh asked Taehyung personally if he would be willing to tutor Wendy to ensure she would pass his class. Clearly, Taehyung was more than excited to do so. The difficult part now was to get Wendy on the same boat.

"WHAT?" she screamed, "This geek is going to spend his time trying to cram all this useless information into my precious brain?"

"Precisely," replied Mr. Oh.

"Actually, I would be expanding your mind with incredible knowledge, Wendy," Taehyung stated nervously, looking at the ground.

Her beauty was radiating too much for Taehyung to look at her.

"I don't think so," she guffawed.

Even her laugh was beautiful.

"Ms. Son, what are your ambitions? What are you trying to achieve in the near future? You can't go on in life like this. Your education is all you have to cherish right now. The other teachers aren't even affected by this and quite frankly, I shouldn't be either. I'm going out of my way to do this and dragging poor Taehyung into this, so please cooperate with me here. I don't want to see you waste your life in a cell."

Taehyung was shocked. Mr. Oh has never been this harsh before. Surprisingly, Wendy was unfazed.

"Ugh, fine," she whined.

That whine was adorable.

"Alright, Taehyung is your tutor and you will obey him. He better return to school in one piece at all times."

"Relax, Mr. Oh. I don't bite and I don't intend on hurting this fella."

"Good luck," Mr. Oh whispered into Taehyung's ear, "It is so obvious."

Taehyung blushed. Does everyone know he loves her? He still thanked Mr. Oh for this opportunity.

"What are you blushing at, you weirdo?"

"Nothing," he cleared his throat, "Where do you want to meet up for the tutoring sessions?"

"I guess your house works since I can't bare to allow us to be seen in public together. "

"Sounds like a good plan," he said as he handed her his address.

She arrived at his house, knocking on the door. Taehyung opened the door, looking fresh. The boy showered beforehand, picking his outfit and doing his hair meticulously. He even tidied the house up a bit, making sure the tables were cleared so they could study. His mom was thrilled to hear a girl was coming  to the house and prepared some nutritious snacks, hiding in another room with a camera ready to document their moments.

"You look lovely, Wendy."

"I literally look the same, dork."

Taehyung internally died of embarrassment as Wendy walked in, exploring his home.

"Anyways, where should we start with the chapters?"

"I don't even know which chapters we learned in class."

"So I presume the first chapter would be the best place to start."

"Sure." She sat down at the dinner table, followed by Taehyung sitting next to her with the bowls of fruits.

Taehyung reviewed the first chapter and Wendy has never felt more mental pain in her life.

"Ugh, this is too much. I can't even. You're awful at explaining and solidifying the concepts in an unambiguous way."

"I will take the constructive criticism into consideration." Basically, Taehyung was going to hide in a hole of humiliation because he was failing at tutoring her and making her attracted to him.

Wendy noticed the disappointment in Taehyung's face and quickly muttered, "It's not you. I'm just dumb."

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows. "You're not dumb; you're amazing. You can do whatever you want if you just persevered. I believe in you."

She was stunned. No one has ever said such kind words to her before. It felt nice to have someone believe in her, truly. She didn't know how to react and her inner walls appeared, the shutting people off mechanism kicked in.

"Okay, thanks. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." She ran out the door.

"Bye, Wendy!"

The next day Wendy came into Taehyung's home cranky.

She rolled her eyes whenever he would try to explain the formulas and constantly whined when he made her do some problems.

"This is never going to work. I'm just gonna fail the class. Simple."

"No, I will not let that happen!"

"You're just not good at tutoring. Face it."

Taehyung just looked at the ground.

"This was such a waste of time to begin with."

"You can say that all you want, Wendy. But I don't give up. And I won't give up on you."

"You're so persistent and it's getting annoying. I hate people who are like this." And with that, she walked away.

When she walked out, she felt guilty but proceeded with her walk.

The following day at school, Wendy calmly sat in her chair. She didn't have the energy to fight with anyone. Taehyung rushed to her desk and placed his hands firmly on it.

"Listen to me, Wendy. You were right about me being persistent and how it's annoying. I get it. But I can't stand how fixed and stubborn you are. Barely two sessions in and you just quit. This wasn't going to be easy -- we all know that -- but that doesn't mean you can just give up like that. Learning is a gradual process. Mistakes are okay, as long as we don't make them again. It doesn't hurt to try. Failure leads to success. If you want to redeem yourself, come by again. If not, then fine. Just so you remember, I believe in you. I always have and I always will." He sat in his chair after that speech and the bell rung just in time.

Throughout the class, Wendy pondered about what he said. She was touched. She realized she needed to change for the better. Here Taehyung was trying to help her and all she was doing was accepting it and not putting in effort. Her negative mindset was getting her nowhere. Most importantly, Taehyung believed in her. She couldn't let him down.

She knocked on his door after school, ready to process the data. Taehyung opened the door with a wide smile.

"I'm glad you came, Wendy."

"Me, too."
