Anticipating receiving her report card at school, Wendy ripped open the mail and quickly took the paper out in the hallway. With eyes scanning her grades, they finally saw the grade point average (GPA).
"I can't believe I got a 3.9 GPA! I was so close to a 4.0!"
She frowned at the ground, disappointed by that horrid B+. Seongwoo just happened to be walking at the scene of the smartest student in class looking upset. He didn't to admit it, but she still looked cute even when sad.
"What happened?"
Her eyes flickered to his and drooped.
"I got a 3.9 GPA. Now I can't be valedictorian. I probably won't even get to any of the colleges I've dreamed of. My future is shattered. I have no life." She burst into tears as she lowered herself to the ground, head in between her knees.
Seongwoo kneeled down and calmly stated, "Hey, look at me." She did as she was told and looked up. Giggles came out of her mouth when he made a funny face. A double chin was formed while his eyes were cross-eyed, followed by an attempt at winking. Her smile dominated her giggles.
"You should smile more. You're the prettiest when you smile. And if it makes you feel better, in my eyes, you will always be valedictorian. Colleges will shake once they see your application."
"Thank you for cheering me up."
"The pleasure is all mines."
"I'd be glad if you continued doing so."
"Then I guess I will. I'll be your happy virus, radiating, and practically oozing joy so contagious, that you can't help but reciprocate."
