"Ilhoon, come here!" Wendy shouted as she saw him entering the classroom.
Ilhoon dashed to where Wendy sat. She welcomed him with a warm smile. He reciprocated.
"Okay, Ilhoon. Please sit in your chair and remain silent during the lesson. Also, listen to Ms. Kim and don't try to start a fight with anyone."
Ilhoon saluted her. "Anything for you, Wendy." She grinned.
Throughout the class, he actually obeyed Wendy. He even took notes and on what Ms. Kim was teaching and raised his hand to answer a few questions! Wendy was amazed.
Truthfully, Ilhoon enjoyed staying calm in his seat. It took a lot of energy to torment others and it wasn't something he was proud of. Writing the main points from the lesson and participating wasn't that difficult either. He realized it was time for him to change his actions. He didn't like disappointing his older sister anymore. And with the help of Wendy, he was sure he could change into a better version of himself.
Class was dismissed and when lunch finally rolled around, Ilhoon was trying to find Wendy. Again, her blonde hair stood out. As he walked over to her table, a guy bumped into him. The guy apologized immediately, looking down at the ground, not even daring to face Ilhoon. Everyone else in the crowd repeatedly shouted, "Fight!"
Ilhoon's first instinct was to punch the poor dude, but it dawned on him how that wasn't the kind of person he wanted to be. So he just forgave the guy and walked past him, leaving everyone stunned. Meanwhile, Wendy was viewing the not-so-disastrous scene proudly. She believed he would maintain his nice ways and she was right. She ran up to him and hugged him tightly. Ilhoon didn't mind the embrace and hugged her back.
"I am beyond gratified on how you reacted to that!" she exclaimed.
"Same. At first, I was going to punch him but I remembered that was how the old Ilhoon would have reacted," he replied.
Wendy stared into his eyes with a bright smile -- the smile of an angel. Then she looked at his lips and her face flushed. Of course Ilhoon noticed this adorable action and leaned in. Wendy closed her eyes, waiting patiently for his lips on hers. Before they could kiss, Hyuna barged in and shouted, "You punk!"
"Do you think I asked Wendy to be your urbanity mentor for you to mindlessly flirt with her?" she questioned.
Ilhoon's face and ears turned red.
Wendy interjected, "I should also be the one to blame. Unfortunately, I couldn't disregard his flirting tactics and now I have a crush on him. But he isn't the same Ilhoon who recklessly hurts people verbally or physically! He is slowly changing. Earlier, he encountered a situation where he could've started a fight just because someone accidentally bumped into him, but he stopped and realized that wasn't the right thing to do. Even before that, he, as a matter of fact, didn't disrupt the teacher and took notes! He is cultivating his moral compass, and I am astonished. Truly."
Hyuna was speechless and so was Ilhoon. Wendy just waited for a response. After a few seconds, tears brimmed the eyes of Hyuna.
"Ilhoon, is that true?"
Ilhoon vehemently nodded.
"Thank you, Wendy. I'm glad Ilhoon is making progress. Moreover, I'm glad someone like you exists because I can't picture any other girl with Ilhoon. If you two want to date, I will be all for it."
"You're absolutely welcome, Hyuna! I'm happy I met Ilhoon. Hopefully he does want to be my boyfriend."
"I obviously do, Wendy."
