Two years have passed and Jungkook was never able to get rid of his crush. So he tried again in hopes of success, and sadly, it didn't happen. He confessed at the age of sixteen, Wendy being eighteen. She rejected him yet again for the same reason: he was too young. But how much is old enough?

"What if when I'm eighteen, Wendy?"

"That's still too young."

"How old do I have to be for us to be together?"

She stared at him. "I don't see you as a man, Jungkook. I just don't. I'm sorry."

He looked off to the sides and stuck his tongue inside his cheek. Clearly getting annoyed and angry at this situation.

Wendy felt guilty for lying to him again. "You should move on, Jungkook. Find someone better."

He threw his hands up in frustration. "Don't you think I've tried? I can't move on, Wendy. I'm in love with you!"

I'm in love with you, too, Jungkook.

"Well, try harder." She walked away with tears streaming down her face.

Afterward, she encountered Jungkook and Yeri at their lockers talking to each other like how best friends talk. In her perspective, it looked like they were flirting. Irene, standing next to Wendy, whispered in her friend's ear, "They look adorable together." Wendy gritted her teeth and bitterly agreed, "They really do."

She was miserable—even when she had no right to be. Jungkook glanced at her and noticed her sad expression fixed at Yeri's back. But then he saw Wendy's face turning into a glare. It was almost as if she was jealous.

At home, Jungkook patiently waited for Wendy to arrive. He needed to talk to her. When she entered the living room, he shot up. Expecting her to greet him, he stood there awkwardly. Instead, she ignored him and walked upstairs. He deflated.

Yeri, sitting next to him, couldn't believe her sister's response.

How immature was that?

"I'm going to the restroom. Be right back!" she announced to Jungkook. He nodded.

She opened Wendy's room, furious.

"I know you like him, Wen. He keeps sitting there moping around because of you and I don't like it. Don't be the reason why Jungkook is sad," she said loud enough to display her anger, but not too loud for Jungkook to hear.

"It doesn't make sense, Yeri."

"When does love ever make sense?"

"I'm two years older than him! I'm going to college soon. There's no point in having a relationship right now."

"He waited two years for you. He can wait for two more, Wen. Give him a chance. Talk to him! Don't avoid this thinking you won't regret it because I know you will."

Wendy surprisingly hugged Yeri. "Thank you for knocking some sense into me." Yeri grinned. "No problem, Wen."

Wendy walked down the stairs nervously. With Jungkook eyeing her, it made her even more nervous. Reaching the end, she waved at him. He waved back.

"Hey, Jungkook. I'm sorry about earlier. I wasn't prepared to see you," she said, breathless.

"Why does our age difference bother you so much?"

"Because I'm older than you, Jungkook. When people see us, they automatically assume you'd be with Yeri and not me. They see me as your older sister and how you're my little brother."

"Why do you care about what they think?"

"I don't know! I always have. I don't want other girls flirting with you if we're together."

"You say that as if guys aren't flirting with you."

"They aren't! I'm not as pretty as you think I am. I'm not that smart or great. I'm just ... me. On the other hand, you have these better girls out there who'd be a great match for you."

"I don't want to be with other girls. Only you. I think you're pretty, smart, and great just the way you are. I'm seriously in love with you, Wendy."

Wendy's eyes softened. The words she desperately wanted to say back. This is the perfect time.

"I'm in love with you, too, Jungkook."

"I've wanted to hear that for so long."

"I'm in love with you. I'm in love with you. I am so in love with you, Jungkook."

He cradled her head and kissed her forehead.

"I'm going to college soon. How will we work out?"

He stared at her, not knowing the answer. "I don't know. But as long as we try to work it out, I think we'll be okay."

That answer oddly enough gave her hope. She smiled at him; he smiled back. Yeri stood on the stairs, smiling at them.
