Prologue;
Breaking News: MAMAMOO's Solar and Eric Nam are getting married!
Eric put a ring on it over a year ago, discreetly. Now the lovely engaged couple are ready to spend the rest of their lives together. How beautiful is that?
Wendy received a call from Yeri.
"Wendy, did you hear about Eric and Solar?
"Yes." Her voice shook.
"I'm so sorry, Wendy."
"I just can't believe it," Wendy replied, biting her lip to restrain herself from crying.
"Don't cry!"
Wendy chuckled.
"Of course my Yeri would be able to detect my verge of crying. I'm okay."
"Did they send out invitations yet? Do you think he'll invite you to the wedding?"
"I'll check my mail right now. Bye, Yeri."
Truthfully, she wasn't expecting to see an invitation mailed so early. Also, she didn't even know if she wanted to be invited. And if she was, wouldn't it rude if she just didn't go? Did she need to contact Eric about it? For Pete's sake, she doesn't even know what to do at weddings! Were presents a must? Is going alone preferred or can she invite her members? The last thing Wendy needs in her life right now is to feel perpetually alone. But what was Solar like? She's probably prettier, smarter, funnier, and more talented, right? No wonder Eric would want to marry her.
Those thoughts consumed her as she walked to her mailbox that was inconveniently moved to the fourth row in her neighborhood along with the rest of her neighbors' mailboxes. It was giving her more unnecessary stress. When she finally reached hers, she took a deep breath, preparing herself for this potential mere envelope. Opening it, she gathered the mail, quickly skimming and going through the envelopes and fliers.
She found the following: a (love) letter from Irene, postcard from her parents, campus tour offers from Seoul National University and Korea University, and ... Eric's wedding invitation for her. She grabbed it and shoved everything else back into the mailbox and ran home.
Shutting the door to her room, she stood in front of it, reading the decorated card with fancy fonts. The front of the card said, "You are cordially invited to..." The text continued when she flipped it open, "Eric and Solar's Wedding!" A picture of Eric backhugging Solar followed afterward. It hurt seeing Eric backhugging someone else like that, but she accepted it. After all, Eric looked happy, and what Wendy wants most is for him to be happy. She turned to the back of the card, only envisioning the different yet correlated design from the front, and was instead met with Eric's handwriting. He wrote, "Hope you can make it, Wendy. I miss you." She traced his handwriting tenderly, memories flooding her mind. Tears dropped as she clutched the card to her heart, sliding down the door.
Do any of you guys ship JungRi (Jungkook and Yeri)? I published a story on them yesterday and it would mean a lot if you guys read it! Thank you.
