Annabeth's POV(again I know)

I forgot all about the abuse that was part of our relationship in the beginning. Luke had stopped hitting me.

I abandoned Piper and her friends to live as Luke wanted.

No... as I wanted?

Yes, I wanted.

Percy escaped my mind and I didn't think of the group until I bumped into Piper one day.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Piper had slightly changed. Her hair being a couple inches longer.

"No, that was my fault, I wasn't looking."

"How are you these days, Anna?"

The nickname punched me right in the gut. Luke called me that.

"I'm fine, thanks for asking. You?" I didn't want to talk but I also didn't want to seem impolite. Luke hated that.

"I've been fine too. Sorry, I'm on my way to meet some friends. Do you maybe want to tag along?"

"No, sorry I have work to do."

Luke didn't like me having friends.

She nodded and headed off.

When I got back to my dorm, I washed my face. I looked up at the mirror. My eyes were dull.

Piper's eyes were sparkling.
