Annabeth's POV

My mind drifted away from class,  which has become a frequent thing, along with the dropping of my grades. It's almost as if my mind couldn't grasp reality and wanted to go off on its own. The room was void of any windows, so my gaze was directed towards a blank wall. These lessons were useless in my mind. The professor's words were just drabbles. Why had I come here again? Right. I imagined my life at Yale, or Brown; both of which I had been accepted to. Why had my parents allowed me to come here? Right, they weren't even my real parents. I knew they cared for me, but they let me make my own choices without making any input. How would everything be different if my dad hadn't died in that fire? How would everything be different if I hadn't started that fire?
