Adeline's P.O.V

When we got back to the hospital, I walked over to Archie. He looked back up at me and stood up. I had a bag of spare clothes for our dad since I packed it when I was back home.

"Please tell me there's news," I said as I walked over to Archie.

"The bullet's out but he's not breathing on his own," Archie told me.

"When can we see him?" I asked.

"Not for a while," Archie told me. I nodded as I saw he was holding a bag of our dad's stuff.

"Go home and change into new clothes," I said to him.

"Adeline, call me if anything happens," Archie told me.

"I will. Go home, clean up, and come back," I told him.

"I'll be back soon," Archie said before leaving. He kissed my temple before walking out with Veronica.

Word traveled fast in Riverdale. People from school started to come to the hospital, paying their respects and prayers for my dad. I sat on a chair until I saw my ex boyfriend walk in. I looked at him in confusion as he walked over to me.

"Addy," Reggie said, walking over to me.

"Reggie?" I asked, standing up.

"I heard what happened. Are you okay?" He asked, pulling me into a hug. I let him hug me fore a bit before pulling away from the hug. I crossed my arms as I avoided eye contact.

"I'm fine. I'm just worried about my dad," I told him.

"I know we had a rough past but I want to let you know that I'm here for you," Reggie said.

"Thanks, Reggie. It means a lot to me and Archie," I said, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Of course," Reggie said before leaning down to kiss my cheek.

"Seriously, Reggie? The poor girl has her dad in surgery. Let her take a breath," Josie said, walking over to us. Her and her band walked over making me smile a bit at them.

"Hi, pussycats. Thanks for coming here, for support," I told them.

"As our friend, we're sending your dad our prayers and giving him as many of our nine lives as he needs," Josie told me.

"Thanks, Josie," I smiled.

"How are you feeling?" Reggie asked me.

"Tired. It's been one hell of a morning," I told him.

"Are you hungry or something?" He asked me.

"I can eat something," I told him.

"I'll go get you hot chocolate if you want," He told me.

"I need food, Reggie. Not drinks," I told him.

"Right. Be right back," Reggie said. He jogged out to go get some food for me.

"He is still in love with you," Josie pointed out once he was out of hearing. I looked over at her and shook my head.

"But our what-was-suppose-to-be-a-relationship was a joke," I told her.

"Adeline," I looked to see Betty walk over to me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing. Veronica texted me. She said that Archie is going to the sheriff's office to identify the killer," Betty told me. I made a confused face at her.

"I don't think they got him that quick," I told her.

"Well, Archie will be back later than we thought," She warned me.

"Thanks for the heads up," I told her.

"Anything for you."

Reggie came back with some food, making me sit down at a table in the cafeteria. He sat next to me as I ate. I munched on the muffin before taking a sip of the hot chocolate.

"Adeline, I'm sorry for what happened," Reggie said.

"You didn't shoot my dad," I told him.

"It's not only that. I'm sorry for what I've done for you," Reggie said.

"Reggie, forgive and forget. The past is in the past," I told him.

"Adeline-"

"Can we not talk about our past, please?" I asked Reggie.

"Yeah. Sure."

After I ate, I went back to the waiting room. I talked to some people as I waited for news on my dad.

"Adeline, your brother is here," I turned around to see Archie walk over. I ran over to him and engulfed him into a hug. He hugged me back before pulling away.

"Any news?" Archie asked.

"No," I shook my head.

"Archie," Josie said, getting his attention.

"Veronica said that you were down at the sheriff's station? That maybe they got the guy?" She asked him.

"Yeah, but it wasn't him. He's still out there," Archie said. I saw a doctor walk over making me nudge at Archie.

"Archie and Adeline. He's in room twelve, you can see him now," The doctor said. I smiled a bit, knowing that he's not dead.

"Okay, great," Archie said. I held his hand as we were about to go to the room.

"Listen, he hasn't woken up yet. But talk to him, coax him back. Keep it positive. Honestly, that could make all the difference," He told us. We nodded before walking to the room. We sat on both sides, holding his hand.

"Do you want to talk first?" Archie asked me.

"Unless you want me to bawl my eyes out right in the middle of talking then sure," I told Archie. Archie nodded before looking at dad.

"Dad. I don't know if you can hear me. Hopefully you can. I'm only supposed to talk about good things, which kinda limits my options, but what can I tell you?" Archie started off.

After talking to him, we waited outside. I walked around as I thought about my dad.

"Who's hungry? We've got burgers and fries and onion rings," Jughead announced making all of us cheer.

"Nice, Jugs," I got up and walked over to Betty and grabbed some food.

"Excuse me. Food is suppose to be in the cafeteria," The nurse said.

"You both are life savers," I told them.

"You're welcome, Adeline. Now, let's go eat," She said.
