Fifty Nine

Adeline's P.O.V

Without Jughead, Veronica, or Reggie going up for student body president. It was me and Ethel going up for it.

"Adeline, can we talk?" I heard Sweet Pea asked. I looked over at him and nodded.

I sat on a desk as Sweet Pea handed me a piece of paper. I looked at it and read it out loud.

"Starting next week, all former Southside High students will be bussed to Seaside High. Wait, this can't be true," I told Sweet Pea.

"It's true angel," Sweet Pea told me. I frowned as I looked through the paper.

"That's two hours away," I told him.

"I know."

"Can he even do this?" I asked him.

"I guess so."

"No. I won't allow it," I said, shaking my head at him.

"Angel. There's not much we can do now," Sweet Pea told me.

"Bull," I said.

"The Ghoulies are also making things worse for us," Sweet Pea told me.

"What do you mean?"

"They trashed most of the Serpent's homes and most of the Serpents live in the Whyte Wrym," Sweet Pea told me.

"What?"

"Yeah."

"Well I'm going to help you and the Serpents as much as possible. I know Cheryl will be helping as well," I told him.

"Adeline-"

"Sweet Pea. You're important to me. And if the Serpents are important to you, then they're important to me as well," I told him. Sweet Pea leaned down to give me a quick kiss on the lips.

"I love you," Sweet Pea told me.

"I love you too," I said before giving him another kiss.

I was with Archie and dad at the police station. Apparently, there was something urgent Sheriff Minetta wanted to talk to us about. I sat on a chair while dad and Archie stood behind me.

"After your visit, Archie, I made it my personal mission to catch the man who invaded your home. An anonymous tip led to the suspect, and when we went to question him... Well, unfortunately, he engaged us in a firefight, and we were forced to take him down. He's dead, but he's the guy, no question," Sheriff Minetta told Archie.

"How can you be so sure? We found guns on the premises that matched the ones used at both the attack on your house and the town hall shooting, as well as this black hood," Sheriff Minetta showed us the hood in an evidence bag.

"Who was he?" Dad asked him.

"Ex-gang member, Gerald Petite. Also known as 'Tall Boy.'"

I looked over at Archie who looked back at me. Tall Boy seemed like the person to attack us but it felt a little too unreal. They got him too quickly.

At home, I was packing up some food for the Serpents who were living in the Whyte Wrym. Cheryl was going to bring in some muffins to give out. I left early so I can quickly get there quicker.

"Hey, angel," Sweet Pea said walking over to me.

"Hi," I smiled.

"It's nice of you to do this for us," Sweet Pea told me.

"It's unfair of what happened," I told him.

We walked inside where I started to give out the food. As I was passing  out food, I saw Toni rush over to us.

"Guys. We have a problem," Toni told us.

"What's going on?" I asked her.

"They're going to raid the bar right now. We have to get out of here," Toni said. I called up Archie who answered the phone pretty quickly.

"Adeline?"

"Please tell me you're on your way here with Jughead and Cheryl," I told him.

"Yeah. We're on our way," Archie told me.

"Good. Cause we need to move them somewhere safe asap," I told him.

"I have a place in mind," Archie told me.

When Jughead, Archie, and Cheryl came, we made Jughead make the announcement.

"Take only what you absolutely need, and what you can carry with you. We need to move quickly and quietly. Sheriff Minetta's forces are all over the Southside and they're looking for our blood. If we want our skulls to remain uncracked, we have to go undetected," Jughead told them.

"Go where? There's nowhere safe," Sweet Pea said.

"We've been offered asylum on the Northside," Jughead told him.

We all helped carry bags and more before rushing out of the bar. I walked next to Archie and Sweet Pea as we walked over to the Northside. We've avoided the cops as we headed over to the Northside. To our house. I could hear the sirens everywhere. Was this what our town had came to?
