Adeline's P.O.V

Kevin called us in for rehearsals again but this one seemed a little different. Cheryl wasn't here.

"Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Cheryl will no longer be playing the role of Carrie White," Kevin said.

"What?" I asked in shock.

"What? Why?" Toni asked.

"Let's just say that Penelope Blossom isn't much of a stage-mom," Kevin said making Mrs. Cooper scoff.

"Oh. I think Cheryl's by the gym bleachers," Kevin told Toni who got up and walked away to find her.

"In the meantime, Cheryl's understudy will assume the role," Kevin told the rest of us.

"Understudy?" Ethel asked.

"I appointed one after the sandbag incident. Midge Klump!"

We all applauded to her as she smiled at us. I looked over at Ethel before putting my hand on her shoulder.

"I knew how much you wanted that role. I'm sorry, Ethel," I told her.

"It's alright, Adeline," She told her.

I was getting ready for the play in the dressing room. I heard a knock on the door making me look over to see Sweet Pea with some flowers.

"I just wanted to say good luck or I guess from what Toni told me, break a leg?" Sweet Pea told me. I smiled before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you. They're lovely," I told him.

"I'll see you after the show," Sweet Pea told me before giving me another kiss.

"Bye."

I put the flowers in a vase before walking out to check on something really quick. I bumped into someone making me look up.

"I'm so sorry," I told him.

"It's alright," He smiled down at me. I stared at him for a bit.

"You look like Betty's brother," I told him.

"I am. I'm Chic," He told me.

"Nice to meet you, Chic. I'm Adeline. Betty's friend," I told him.

"Are you in the show?" He asked me.

"Yup."

"Adeline! Come on. Let's go," Toni said to me.

"I have to go. It was nice to meet you," I smiled before rushing off with Toni.

We were watching the opening with Mrs. Cooper singing. I stood next to Toni as we watched from the sidelines.

"All right, Carrietta, it's time to come out of your closet," She said. As soon as the set went up, I gasped in horror.

Midge was stabbed onto the wall with more than five knives in her. There was a message on the wall in her blood as well.

"Somebody, should help her. For God's sake, help her!" I heard Cheryl yell.

Mrs. Cooper screamed making everyone go into a panic. The crowd was running trying to get out while us on stage panicked.

"Adeline!" I heard. I saw Archie run over to me as well as dad.

"I thought you told me he died?!" I told Archie.

"He did," Archie told me.

"We have to get off of the stage. Now!" Dad said.

The Black Hood was back and alive.
