Adeline's P.O.V
I took my old skateboard to follow the boys. I had barely made it there before the fight started.
"Stop!" I yelled. I got off my skateboard and got into the middle.
"Adeline, what the hell are you doing here?" I heard Archie said. I looked at both sides.
"You both can't start without hurting me. Can we all just talk about this?" I asked.
"Adeline, get out!" Archie said.
"Adeline, you're going to get hurt," Reggie said.
"No! I don't care. I don't want you guys to get hurt."
"Adeline! Get back here. You're already in so much trouble!" Archie said. I looked at Archie and shook your head.
"Please don't fight with my boyfriend or his friends. And please don't fight my brother and his friends," I said to both sides.
"Adeline, how can you date a serpent? He's dangerous," Archie tells me.
"He's not," I tell him.
I felt a hand on mine making me look up. Sweet Pea leaned down and gave me a kiss on the forehead before pulling me back.
"Fangs, take her somewhere safe," Sweet Pea said.
"What? Sweet Pea!" I yelled in disbelief.
Fangs pulled me back and away from the groups. I watched as Archie threw the first punch. I hid my face into Fangs's chest as he hid my view from the fight. Once I heard a gunshot, I looked up to see Veronica with a gun. I saw as Sweet Pea and the Serpents run back. I saw Sweet Pea run back over to me.
"Adeline!" I heard Archie yell. I got onto Sweet Pea's bike. I looked back at Archie who looked up at me.
"If you go with him, you're not allowed back home. You'll be a disapointment," Archie told me. Those words hurt me a little. I looked away to look back at Sweet Pea.
"Go," I told him as I wrapped my arms around him. I leaned my head against his back as he drove off.
Once we got back to his place, he got two towels. I took off my sweater and put it over a chair. I dried myself before drying up my hair. Sweet Pea walked over with some clothes.
"If you want to change," Sweet Pea said. I smiled softly at him.
"Thanks," I said before walking over to the bathroom.
I changed into the clothes. Sweet Pea's shirt was large on me. The shirt stopped mid thigh for me. I didn't bother putting on the shorts. I walked back out to see Sweet Pea changed as well. I sat on his bed as I continued to dry my hair.
"I'm sorry about what happened," Sweet Pea apologized.
"It's not just your fault. It's also my brother's," I said. I saw some bruises on him.
"You're hurt," I said as I lightly touched his bruises.
"I'll be fine."
I cupped his cheek so he could look up at me. I kissed him softly on the lips.
"Sweet Pea, I told my dad about us and I was hoping for you to make a good impression," I said after pulling away.
"If you break up with me, I won't be mad at you," Sweet Pea told me.
"I don't plan on doing that. I'm just... disappointed," I told him.
"I'm sorry that you had to be disappointed," Sweet Pea said.
"Sweet Pea, I really don't want us to be a Romeo and Juliet where in the end, we both have a tragic ending," I told him.
"I promise I'll try to be better. For you," Sweet Pea told me. I nodded at him before giving him one more kiss.
