Eleven

Adeline's P.O.V

"Who did what?" I asked Sweet Pea as he told me what happened.

"Some Northsider pulled a gun on me," Sweet Pea told me. I rolled my eyes.

"Of course someone did," I scoffed. I knew who Sweet Pea was talking about. 

"Your Northsiders are crazy," Sweet Pea told me.

"Sweet Pea, please calm down," I said into the phone. 

"I'll talk to you later," Sweet Pea said before hanging up. I stared at my phone which had a wallpaper of me and Sweet Pea on it.

"Trouble in paradise, little Andrews?" Cheryl asked me.

"Archie's going to kill my first, real relationship," I told her.

"Don't let him get to you," Cheryl said. 

"You're right. I gotta go, I'll see you later," I said to Cheryl.

Later that day, dad went to go to the town meeting. Archie stayed home to watch me. I was in my room watching some Netflix until I heard shouting. I walked downstairs to look at Archie and Veronica.

"Veronica? What are you doing here and what the hell is going on?" I asked.

"Nothing. Go back to your room, Adeline," Archie said. 

"No. It's my house too," I said before walking over to the kitchen.

I looked through the cabinets to look for something to eat. I heard knocking making me walk over to the front door.

"I got it," I said. 

"Adeline, wait," I opened the door to see Reggie, Dilton, and the rest of the football team.

"Reggie?" I asked confused.

"Can we come in?" Reggie asked. 

"Only because you brought food," I said before letting them inside. They put the pizzas down on the table. I took a slice of pizza before going back upstairs. 

"You're not going to stay?" Reggie asked me. 

"This whole Red Circle thing is Archie's mess. I'm not getting involved with this," I told him.

"I understand," Reggie said before letting me go back to my room.

As I continued watching Netflix, I heard a group of motorcycles from outside. I quickly went downstairs to see Sweet Pea and some of his friends walk over. However they couldn't see me since I was in the top of the stairs.

"How stupid are you Northsiders? You really think you can come to my house, stick a gun in my face in front of my boys, and there wouldn't be any payback?" I heard Sweet Pea asked.

"You have crap timing, bro. Bulldogs eat Serpents for lunch," Reggie told Sweet Pea. 

"We'll see about that. And the more, the merrier," Sweet Pea said. Reggie was about to throw a punch but Archie stopped him.

"Hey, chill. Veronica, stay here."

"What? Archie, no..."

"Veronica, after my dad, I made a promise to protect him and this house. You stay here. If you wanna fight, we'll fight," I heard Archie say. 

"What about your gun?"

"What about your knife?"

"How about no weapons? If you troglodytes insist on doing this, there are gonna be rules. Or should I call Sheriff Keller to be referee?"

"How about we don't fight?" I asked as I walked downstairs.

"Adeline," Archie warned.

"Adeline?" Sweet Pea asked confused.

"Sweet Pea, what are you doing?" I asked him.

"You know him, Adeline?" Archie asked me.

"Of course I do. He's my boyfriend," I said, finally admitting to dating Sweet Pea. 

"You're dating a serpent?" Archie asked in shock.

"You're dating a gang member, beautiful?" Reggie asked. All eyes were on me now.

"Yes. And I'm proud of it too," I tell them. Sweet Pea smiled a little at you. 

"Adeline, go upstairs now," Archie tells you.

"What? No. Archie!" I said.

"Veronica, make sure she doesn't go anywhere," Archie said. 

"Wait, stop. Let's just talk this out," I said. 

"Stay here, Adeline," Archie said. 

The boys started to leave. I grabbed an umbrella and ran outside. 

"Stop! Come on! Archie, stop!" I yelled.

"Adeline. Go back inside. I'll deal with you later," Archie told me. I watched as all of them left. I groaned out loud in frustration. I have to stop them even if it kills me.
