Adeline's P.O.V

I sat in the back with Moose as we just checked Reggie's place. Archie was calling up Jughead for help.

"The Serpents are going nuts... No, dude, I was with Reggie when it happened, it wasn't him. So you need to call off your crew. We're just leaving Reggie's house now... No, he wasn't home. We're headed to the high school now. That's where Mrs. Mantle said they were going," Archie tells Jughead.

"Your Serpent boyfriend better not have killed Reggie," Moose told me.

"If Sweet Pea's there, let me talk to him. I can maybe talk him down," I told them.

"She's right. Adeline, we'll be right behind you," Archie told me.

"Thank you," I said.

We got inside the school from an open window. Archie helped me inside. I heard the Serpents yelling and smashing things around.

"That's gotta be the Southsiders," Kevin said.

"Serpent scum!" Moose said.

"Settle down, Moose. We're out manned and unarmed," Archie said.

"I'm not just gonna hide here while they trash our school!" Moose said.

"I'm with Moose," Kevin told us.

"All right. But it's us four against who knows how many. So if we're gonna do this, we gotta gear up," Archie said. We went to the sporting equipment before the boys got some weapons to defend themselves. I reached into my pocket to feel Sweet Pea's pocket knife in there.

"Ready?" Archie asked as he grabbed a baseball bat.

"Let's go," I said.

We walked over where I saw the school completely trashed.

"Sweet Pea, stop!" I yelled.

"Well, Fellas, looks like we found some bulldogs to put down," Sweet Pea said walking over.

"Sweet Pea. Stop this please," I said.

"Why should I? Why are you even defending for that shooter?" Sweet Pea asked me.

"I'm not. Reggie didn't shoot Fangs, Sweet Pea," I tell him.

"Bullshit," Sweet Pea shouted before smashing another thing making me flinch. Archie pushed me behind him.

"Sweet Pea, I swear, Reggie didn't shoot Fangs. It was Mrs. Klump," Archie said.

"Bull. I saw Mantle with the gun!"

"Then you also saw me tackle him, before he got a shot off! It was Midge's mom! She's down at the station."

"Yeah, and Fangs is still clinging to life. And whether it was Reggie or Mrs. Klump who pulled the trigger, a Northsider put him there," Sweet Pea said.

"Sweet Pea stop! You're scaring me," I said.

"No! You took our friend, our land... And you'll take everything if we give you the chance. So now you get to watch as we burn your school to the ground," Sweet Pea said before throwing a trash can against the trophy case.

I let out a scream since the trophy case glass was right next to me. Sweet Pea took out his pocket knife making me frown at him. The boys got ready for a fight until the doors opened. We looked to see Principal Weatherbee and some others with weapons.

"What the hell do you boys and girl think you're doing to my school?" Principal Weatherbee asked.

"Principal Weatherbee, this is all a misunderstanding," I tell him.

"All of you out now or else!" He shouted.

Archie grabbed me before rushing out of the school. We got back inside Kevin's car before meeting Jughead outside.

"You're too late, Jughead," Archie told Jughead.

"Well, you try Mad Max-ing your way through a riot. What happened in the school?" Jughead asked Archie.

"Weatherbee shut us down. And kicked our asses out."

"Then the Serpents took off again," Kevin said.

"Do you know where?

"Yeah, they went down Fernleaf," Moose said.

"Probably to Midge Klump's house."

"Why there?" Jughead asked.

"To trash it. Because I told them Mrs. Klump shot Fangs, not Reggie. Jughead, you have to coax them off the ledge," Archie told him.

"Yeah, I'm on it."

"Wait... You spoken to Betty?" Archie asked Jughead.

"She's with her mom. Keep in touch."

"You, too."

Jughead drove off while I leaned back into the seat. Archie came back inside the car before looking at Kevin.

"We gotta go to Pop's. He's there," Archie told us.

"Go!" I said.
