Adeline's P.O.V

I sat on stage with Ethel as we were about to run against Jughead and Betty, Veronica and my brother, and Reggie and Josie.

"Okay, now just a quick reminder, that this school hall is a PTA sponsored event. Oh, looks like we have our first question," Mrs. Cooper said, pointing over at Sweet Pea in the back.

"Yeah, no offense to the, uh, current administration, but it doesn't feel like anyone's looking out for the students who are being bussed in from the Southside. Is that gonna change?" Sweet Pea asked.

"Absolutely, Sweet Pea, that's our priority. And no one should feel marginalized or excluded here," Jughead said.

"Jughead and I will be representing all students, North and Southside alike," Betty said.

"Next question. Yes, Midge?"

"My question is for Archie and Veronica. Rumor has it that your parents will soon be on opposite sides of the Mayoral election, won't that negatively affect your working relationship?" Midge asked.

"Archie and I adhere to the old maxim that 'politics are never discussed' at the dinner or the cafeteria table," The crowd let out a laugh.

"Veronica and I are on the same page about everything, including her family's plans for a prison on the Southside," People started to murmur and boo at what Archie said.

"In the meantime, however, we're committed to improving the quality of life at Riverdale High, which means more extracurriculars..."

"Reggie and I agree. Except, add the fact that we can and will deliver results," Josie said.

"And we're chill, unlike these guys," Reggie said. Everyone laugh making me nod in agreement.

"I just want to say that it seems like there's a lot of attention up here between almost everyone. But this is a student election for student council president. Whoever the students vote for, the future student president of Riverdale High can help change the students. To help them with a future that they will succeed in. And I don't believe that there's a difference in North and Southside students. We're all the same. Come to school, learn, and strive for a future that we will change. We are the future and this election should be about who has the best response so they can lead and help the students to achieve on being a lawyer, or a doctor, or a teacher. This election shouldn't be about wanting to get revenge or to live up to parents. This election is about the students and our future for our school," I said. Everyone started to clap. I looked at my competitions before looking around at the audience.

After the meeting, I met up with Sweet Pea. I smiled at him as he hugged me tightly.

"You did great out there," Sweet Pea said before kissing my head.

"Thanks, Sweets. I'm so shaky," I tell him honestly.

"Well you still did great out there," Sweet Pea told me.

"Oh, my mom is here. You should meet her," I tell him.

"I will before you leave," Sweet Pea told me.

"Are you nervous?" I asked him.

"A little. What if she doesn't like me?"

"She'll love you," I tell him.

"Adeline!" I looked over to see my mom and dad walking over.

"Hey mom. Hey dad," I said walking over to hug them.

"I'm so proud of you honey," Mom said, hugging me tightly.

"Thanks."

"If I was a student here, I'd vote for you," Dad told me.

"Oh. Mom, this is Sweet Pea. My boyfriend," I said proudly as I backed up to stand next to him.

"It's nice to meet you ma'am," Sweet Pea said, offering a handshake.

"It's nice to meet you too, Sweet Pea. Adeline has told me so much about you," Mom told him.

"She did?"

"Yes. All good things of course," Mom told him. Sweet Pea smile a little.

"Adeline, it's time to head home," Dad told me.

"Right. I'll see you later, Sweet Pea," I said before going on my tipey toes to kiss his cheek.

"Bye, angel. It was nice to meet you," Sweet Pea told my mom.

"And it was nice to meet you as well," Mom smiled at him. She linked her arm with me as we walked to the car.

"He's polite and very handsome. Keep him," Mom said. I chuckled before nodding at her.

"Of course I will," I tell her.

Archie came home a little later than us. Mom needed to talk to the both of us so I went over to his room.

"I need to ask a you two a favor. Your father is announcing his run for Mayor on Friday. And his campaign, as you know, is based on promoting a wholesome view of Riverdale, and the place where he'd raised his family. Having us three there, standing with him, it's an important moment," Mom told us.

"Then why isn't dad asking us himself?" Archie asked.

"He's a proud guy, your dad. But I know it would mean the world to him, and to me, if you both showed up for this," Mom said.

"Mom, of course, I'll be there for Dad," Archie said.

"Me too. You can count me in," I tell her.

At school, Toni was by my locker. I walked over to her in confusion.

"You okay, Toni?" I asked her.

"Have you heard from Cheryl? I know she's taken you under her wing and I thought maybe she's talked to you," Toni asked.

"I haven't heard from her. Nor seen her active on social media for days," I tell her.

"It's weird. Do you think you can help me find her?" Toni asked me.

"Of course," I nodded.
