Adeline's P.O.V

I said my goodbye to mom. She wasn't so happy with Archie. Mom told me that if I wanted to shadow her during the summer, I was allowed to do so. Now, Kevin was directing the next musical which was Carrie. I was going to play a small minor character in the play.

"Welcome to Carrie, The Musical," Kevin said. Fangs came in, dragging a chair over to the circle. Jughead was filming us as part of the behind the scenes.

"Okay, thanks. Okay. Next, introductions," Kevin said.

"I'm Archie, I'm playing Tommy Ross. The boy next door."

"I'm Betty, I play Sue Snell. The good girl."

"Veronica Lodge, playing mean girl, Chris Hargensen."

"I'm Cheryl Blossom, playing the iconic role of Carrie White."

"Tone deaf," I heard someone fake cough.

"Who's playing your mom?" Ethel asked," Margaret White."

"I am," Mrs. Cooper said as she walked over.

"Ah!"

"Mom?" Betty asked.

"Wait, seriously?"

"Settle down. Yes, it's untraditional but to me, there's nothing more amateur than age-inappropriate casting," Kevin said.

"I'm really looking forward to getting to know who this woman is, you know, get under her skin. And, of course, to spend some quality time with my daughter, Elizabeth."

"Uh, sorry," I looked over to see Chuck walk over. I felt a little uneasy after what happened earlier in the school year.

"I thought rehearsals were in the Music Room," Chuck said as he pulled up a chair.

"No problem. All are welcome here."

As we were doing a script reading, Cheryl stopped us to sing a little to prove to Josie that she could sing. Toni stood up and clapped while the rest of us sat and applauded for Cheryl's little performance.

"Wow. I think I speak for everyone when I say that was undeniable, Cheryl," Kevin said. As Cheryl came back a sack of sand fell in front of her making her scream. I let out a small gasp as it fell.

"Okay, let's take a break and pick this up tomorrow," Kevin said.

Rehearsals have been long. Luckily, I could spend time with Sweet Pea after rehearsals. I sat on his lap as I kissed his cheek.

"I'm so nervous. The last time I was on stage was when I used to be a ballerina. And that was when I was ten," I told him. Sweet Pea chuckled before kissing my neck softly. I giggled as I leaned forward to him.

"Hands off my sister," Archie said. I glared up at him.

"Screw off, Archie," I told him.

"I'm not gonna hurt her, Andrews," Sweet Pea told him.

"Come on, Archie. Leave them alone," Veronica said before pulling my brother away.

"Thank you, Veronica," I said.
