Thirty One

Adeline's P.O.V

I sat next to Kevin as Veronica wanted to talk about something with us, Betty, and Jughead. Archie sat on a single chair while Veronica sat on the arm rest, leaning against Archie.

"I already invited Archie, but I want you guys to be there, as well. Usually these kinds of events, baptisms, confirmations are family-only, but since it's all about me and you guys are my chosen family, I pulled a few strings and reserved you a pew," Veronica told us. 

"What is the dress code?" Kevin asked her.

"Catholic chic. So, dresses for the girls, veils optional. And coats and ties for the boys," Veronica explained.  

"Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper, please report to the principal's office. Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper to the principal's office," Weatherbee said into the intercom. We looked at them as they looked upset.

I sat in my room, studying for a test until I heard a knock at my window. I looked over to see Sweet Pea there. I rushed over to open the window. 

"What are you doing here? You know you can come through the front door," I told him. I stepped back so he could climb in.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I noticed his expression.

"I got an eviction notice. All the other serpents got them as well," Sweet Pea told me. I looked at him in shock.

"What?" I asked confused. 

"Yeah," Sweet Pea said softly.

"So what are you going to do now?" I asked.

"I don't know," Sweet Pea said before sitting down. 

"I'm so sorry," I said, sitting down next to him.

"I kinda blame Jughead," He told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"He wrote the damn article," Sweet Pea said. I wrapped an arm around his waist before leaning my head onto his shoulder.

"I'm sorry," I tell him. Sweet Pea wrapped his arm around me before kissing my head.
