Sixty Two

Adeline's P.O.V

We were all in the student lounge, waiting for the announcement on who won student body president. I know it was me and Ethel versus some others. I sat in between Archie and Sweet Pea as we were talking about the election.

"Attention, Riverdale High students," I heard Weatherbee say on the PA. Everyone who was sitting, stood up," The results of your student council election are in. Your new student body president is... Adeline Andrews.."

Everyone started to cheer for me. I smiled in happiness before Archie hugged me tightly. I hugged him back before hugging Sweet Pea next. He came me a quick kiss on the lips before holding me again. 

"I'm so proud of you," Sweet Pea told me before kissing my cheek. 

"Me too," Archie said. 

"In unrelated news, for the foreseeable future, all former Southside High students will remain at Riverdale High. That is all," I smiled as we cheered again. I gave Sweet Pea a kiss in victory. 

"A win, win for the both of us," I told him. Sweet Pea smiled down at me before giving me another kiss.

I was with Sweet Pea at this Serpent party that was going on. I was talking to Fangs until FP let out a whistle, grabbing everyone's attention. I looked over as he stood up on a box.

"Listen up now! Hey, listen up!" The music stopped as everyone looked at him,"Some years ago, the very first Serpent meeting took place on these same riverbanks. And it makes sense that is where we gather now, where I... Where I say my goodbye. Jughead, would you step up here, son?"

Everyone started to mutter a bit on what FP was doing. We all watched as Jughead stepped up with his dad. 

"I'm retiring from the Serpents. For real this time," Everyone started to groan a little," Whoa. But my boy... My boy has never stopped fighting for this crew. Hell, he almost died for it. That's why I'm giving you the mantle."

We all cheered for Jughead. Toni and Cheryl walked next to us as we watched Jughead and FP.

"And now, as your first official duty as Serpent King..." Sweet Pea and Toni walked over and gave FP a red and pink Serpent jacket," I think you know what to do with this. Take it"

When Jughead took the jackets, everyone cheered. I looked up at Sweet Pea with a smile.

"All right. All right. All I can say is... I love you, Dad. And the Serpents will not die out. Not on my watch," We all cheered before Cheryl and I walked up over to Jughead. He helped us put on the jackets. I looked over at Sweet Pea with a smile.

I walked down over to Sweet Pea afterwards. I wrapped my arms around his neck before giving him a kiss.

"Now you're one of us," Sweet Pea told me.

"I'm glad," I told him before giving him another kiss.
