Adeline's P.O.V

I sat on the chair eating my breakfast until Archie came in. I rolled my eyes before walking out. I bumped into him in the process.

I grabbed my backpack for school before walking back downstairs. Since I was grounded, Dad made sure that I went straight to school and then back home. I walked out and got into the car.

"Are you going to talk to Archie anytime soon?" Dad asked me.

"No."

"Adeline, I understand that you're upset with him but he's still your brother," Dad told me.

"He called me a disgrace," I told him.

"He didn't mean it."

"At least I wasn't having an affair with my teacher," I mumbled.

Once we got to school, I got out and walked inside. I went to my locker so I could put my stuff away.

"So, you're with a Serpent?" I heard Reggie asked me.

"That's none of your business, Reggie," I said, not looking at him.

"Why? You know there are better guys out there for you," Reggie told me.

"Is there?" I asked, glancing up at him.

"Yes!"

"Cause the last boy I was close to before Sweet Pea, was only playing with my feelings because I was innocent and naive," I said, quoting from what I heard about him before.

"I said I was sorry," Reggie told me. I slammed my locker before walking away.

The next day, I heard that Veronica had a friend with her throughout the day. I walked over to the student lounge to see her with some guy. Archie was there along with Kevin.

"Adeline! Come here," Veronica said. I walked over to her and smiled a little.

"Adeline, this is my good friend, Nick. Nick, this is Archie's younger sister, Adeline," Veronica introduced us.

"Pleasure to meet you. May I say, you're absolutely beautiful," Nick complimented me.

"Thank you for your compliment but I have a boyfriend," I told him.

"He is one lucky guy," Nick said.

"He's also a gang member," Archie added.

"That was unnecessary, Archibald," I said.

"Now you're going to call me Archibald?" Archie asked me.

"Why do you care? Is it because you don't want to hear it from me? Your disgrace of a sister?" I asked him.

"Alright you two. Knock it off," Veronica said.

"Come on, Adeline. Let's go out a little," Kevin said before leading me out the door.

I read the Blue and Gold on the couch. I read how Mrs. Cooper was a Southside Serpent. I looked up at my dad who walked inside.

"Dad, is this true?" I asked him as I showed him the newspaper. He walked over and looked at the newspaper.

"Yeah. It's true," He told me.

"Wow," I said in shock.

"Look, let's not mention that to her. It was all in the past," Dad told me. I nodded at him.
