"Here you go. Enjoy."

"Thanks, mom."

She smiles and nods her head at me.

"How did you know?" I say with excitement in my voice.

"A mother always knows. Now go on to school."

My mom got me a journal. I had been thinking of starting one up so I could remember how cringe I was in high school. Those horny thoughts, those small crushes, those weeks of procrastination. Who would ever want to forget those?

I rush out the door and to school, making it just in time for my first class, History, the one class the whole cult is in. Obviously, all the couples that have formed in our cult sit together. Then James and I sit together since there's no one left to sit by.

"Lucy, my girl, top of the morning to ya."

"James, bro, what is up?" I yell right back.

"Nothin' much girl, except it's Friday!"

"Friday? Didn't you tell me that Friday was your date?"

"Maybe it is," James smiles.

"Maybe it isn't," My smile broadens as his does too.

James sits down beside me, his usual spot for history.

"Come on, tell me. What are you gonna do? I haven't heard anything since Tuesday."

"Movie," I give him a glare, "Dinner and a movie," I give him another glare, "We're walking there and back since she lives close."

"Aww cute."

"How do you do it?"

"What? I have no idea what you're talking about," I smirk and look to my other side where Stef is, "Hello good friend."

"I'm not just a good friend, I'm a great friend," Stef says back.

"Fine. What is up great friend?" I roll my eyes.

"I'm ready, date night tonight," She squeals.

"I wouldn't know," I say kinda sad.

"Shut up. You don't know yet, but you will."

"Stop talking now. I'm a single pringle for life."

I turn around to face James again only to see him with his phone.

"Lily, I assume," I raise my eyebrows and look at him when he smiles at me.

"Yeah. She's excited for tonight. I can't believe you got me a date."

"That's what I'm here for."

"Now why can't you get yourself one?" He turns around further in his chair to face me completely.

"Lack of everything: looks, personality, flirting skills, single boys."

"Ok no," James stops me, "You are a beautiful person inside and out. The boys don't know what they're missing."

"Apparently you're missing out too, mister," I laugh.

"You know what I mean. Plus, I see you every day."

"If you're so sure," I smile and then start cracking up.

Soon everyone was laughing, I'm not sure why, we just were. Teachers hate us for that. The impromptu laughing fits are our trademark. Although, a single thought remained in my head.

He called me beautiful. No guy has ever said that to me.

"Lucy, question. Green or blue?"
