"Are you free tonight?"
"Yeah, of course I am."
"Good, you're gonna hang with me then."
"Well, excuse you," I cross my arms at his absurd demanding.
"Tutor me, tonight."
"Chase, you've gotta be nicer to people."
He furrows his eyebrows, "Usually the ladies like it bossy."
"I'm not some common hoe you're trying to bang."
He laughs and starts walking to his class. I run to catch up with him even though he's going the opposite way of my class. This kid is going to drive me insane.
"Chase," I try to get him to pay attention, "Why so moody?"
He shrugs his shoulders and glances at me before going back to trying to not run into anyone, "That's why we're having a study session."
"For therapy?" I smile.
"We have a cumulative test. I can barely spell cumulative."
"Good thing it's math then," I smile, "Also, you have the highest grade in our English class."
He stops in his tracks and turns to face me, "How do you know that?"
"Teacher's pet. She tells me everything."
"Suck up," He laughs and continues on his way.
"You realize I'm gonna be late because of you."
He smirks, "You're the one that's following me. Do you like me or something?"
"Yes, Chase, after so many years I finally want some."
"I knew you'd finally come around," He smiles at me.
I roll my eyes but laugh with him anyway.
"I saw what you did the other day," He raises his eyebrows and looks me up and down, "Maybe you were left in need."
My eyes go wide, "You need Jesus."
"Too bad I have Satan."
That's the last he says before saluting me and disappearing into his class. I laugh but quickly regain myself and start sprinting in the opposite direction. I have one minute to get to class. My legs beg to give up, but I refuse to be late.
I really need to work out more.
"Wow, right on time," James laughs when I walk into history.
I roll my eyes and plop down beside him. He has a smile on his face and his 'no care in the world' mood is radiant as ever. I wish I could wake up looking that happy in the mornings. I look like a bear woke up from hibernation a month too early.
And now with that lovely imagery.
The teacher begins class right as the bell rings. She tries to get through the lesson about the Cold War and whatnot, but we're a troublesome class. That being said, I took a nap, so maybe we did get through the lesson.
"Lucy, time for math," Someone, definitely a male, shakes me awake.
"Ugh, that's even worse."
He, my unknown alarm clock, grabs my arm and yanks me up out of the chair. My eyes shoot open and I grab on to the closest thing. I was definitely not prepared to stand up. I look and see James smiling down at me. I realize that my arms are wrapped tightly around his chest and I'm leaning against him.
