"Hello friend!"
"Fuck off."
"Well, good morning to you too."
"Good morning," I groggily reply to Stefanie.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed," She snickers at my mood.
"And I had to take Grace to school today. Apparently, Timothy was unavailable."
It's Monday what do you expect. Rainbows and unicorns? I think not.
"Monday is not your color," Edward appears on my other side as we walk into the school.
I glare at him, "Bitch."
He rolls his eyes at me as he turns to Stef, "What's up with her?"
"She gets like this every once in a while."
"You mean, once a month?"
Stef nods her head. I roll my eyes and speed up ahead of them to get to my locker.
"Lucy, it's natural to feel this way. You're allowed to be in pain," Edward tries to sympathize.
Stef finally catches up, "That's not going to work."
"That's how I used to deal with my best friend at my old town."
Glad he knows so much about the female biology.
"She's bitchy and tired when she's on her period. It's a once a month war," I grimace at Stef, "But it's the price you pay for such an amazing friend all the other days of the year."
My sarcastic tone shows as I say, "Such kind words Stef, thank you."
"Look it's Ethan! He can help," Stef ignores me.
The crowd around my locker gets bigger as Ethan and Alex join in. As they're walking over I think I hear a whistle. One of those that get lower as they go on, kinda like a catcall, more like the sounds of a cartoon character falling off a cliff. You get the image.
I turn my head to the sound of the whistle but my eyes land of Edward instead. My eyes widen.
Oh my god, drama!
Ethan is one jealous boy, he isn't going to be happy someone likes his girl. My mind jumps to the conversation I eavesdropped on the other night. My eyes somehow manage to widen even more.
He wasn't whistling at Alex, he was whistling at Ethan. That makes sense, right?
I mean Ethan is good looking, I can't argue with that. He's probably more attractive Timothy, but don't tell Grace than. I don't want my head on a stick. He's 5'10, muscly but not bulky, and has dark hair with vibrant blue eyes. Alex is one lucky gal.
I understand Edward completely if he was in fact admiring Ethan. I used to have a crush on him.
"Good day m'lady," Ethan said as he opened the door to the school for me.
I walked in, "Thank you good sir."
"You're Lucy, right?"
"Umm yeah. Ethan?"
He nodded to me as we walked beside each other in the halls. It was the end of freshman year, almost time for summer break. 3 weeks to go, thank whatever lord up above. I was so anxious to get my tan on. I looked like a iced latte when I wanted to be a caramel frappuccino.
"We have math together," He explained.
Oh, I knew we had math together.
"I know," I said out loud, like the dumb bitch I am.
